Newschoolers involvement in 2014 Olympics?

I'm sure this topic has come up at the newschoolers office, and i'm sure some of the details are on the DL, but I'm just wondering what plans are to get the site involved from a media perspective for the 2014 Olympics? Coverage of the games would be all fine and dandy, but i mean is there any chance of NS being able to contract to national broadcasters, and provide people actually worthy of commentary, writing articles for national papers that actually portray how fun skiing really is, and not portraying the futurespin snoozefest that everyone is expecting?

There's been a lot of discussion lately about people who are mad because of skiing in the Olympics, that it's going to take the sport in the wrong direction. I think NS and the community could literally change that, NS grew this sport and helped make it into what it is today, i think it could continue to do that!

Also, I put this thread in here because ski gabber has been a storm of newbs lately, and nobdy looks at media/arts, nsg is always a mess. I think this forum provides the best place for people to make some quality suggestions!

too bad the olympics isn't about fun, it's just about making profit out of our sport....

if you think that skiing is going in the wrong direction it's not. skiing will take the EXACT same path as snowboarding did.

there's still going to be the hesh urban riders, the gangster park rats and the competition riders. everybody will keep to themselves and do their own thing.

that would be sick. I came in here thinking "ns won't be covering shit with all those big networks around"

i'd love to see some actual skiers/ski industry people covering the olympics instead of some random announcer wondering if bobby brown will be able to throw down a triple whirlybird 720 in the finals

I'll be there, as we're of course going to cover the Olympics for

you guys no matter what. Regarding announcers, rest assured that the

networks are going to be bringing people on who know what's up, as

opposed to having someone who knows nothing about freeskiing do it, as they obviously want their broadcast to be done right.

I hear that they have enough money to use a replay system that is slower than MegaMo, but I doubt it.
