Been here since '07, lurked for a year or so. When I say lurked, I mean I would search "freestyle skiing" in google or something and look around thinking how stupid NS was because I didn't know what forums were. I still barely went on for almost a year after I made my account.
 
That's not really lurking.

I was only kicking around because of tbatty,t3dizzle, ted battesh or whatever he goes by these days. Would always send me links to threads on aim to read. Bounced around the gore cult and nsg a while. Lurked from 2005. Didn't see a point in making an account since I didn't ski anymore though. Then jay made an account for me in 07 so I could post park updates.

in about a month ill have been a member on NS for 10 years. fahkkk

im just under the 10k member plateau.

only person i remember from back then with an original name that still posts is jodi.

i still love NS, but it used to be so so fuckin amazing.

it wasnt trend whore after trend whore, jibberish, saga, tammywalnuts, omgzz!

and you could actually buy stuff in the gear swap without getting scammed.

you didnt need to bump threads every 5 mins, more like every week.

EVERYONE was noobs! except for harvery of course.

there wasnt a NS callout. everyone on ns knew everyone on ns.

and the original 164cm line 1260's were the. best, skis, ever. so ahead of the time.

oh, and jonny moseley and brad holmes were tooo fuckin cool.
 
Usually I dislike threads like this, although on this site, I sort of find it interesting since this website was built right after the start of twin tip skis.

I had no idea of it's existence till 2005 and even still, it took me 3 years to sign up. I wasn't convinced for some reason...

That being said, I was an earlyish adopter to the twin tip skis.. Got my 04 Armada AR5s. I remember watching Yearbook and thinking... shit. Before that, I was still in snowboard or slalom mode.

For the record, I have been skiing longer than a majority of the user's here have been alive. 20 seasons deep. I wish my parents had started me off at 2 or 3... I feel old. I don't feel "OG", but I feel old.
 
I dont get how you usually dislike threads like this... what does that even mean?

You hate threads that basically ask people how long they have been apart of a website. That makes no sense.
 
Ive only been on NS since 2005...i have the OG salomon 1080's and red and yellow rossi scratch's does that make me OG? Still watch Royalty on VHS ? lol I remember meeting Jason Levinthal when he was touring canada trying to sell his first or second batch of line skis...also remeber blowing up one of the first pair of line reactor bindings lol lots of good ol memories from the days of snowblades to the first twins lol
 
I typically dislike them because it always seems to turn into an argument of how everything before was better. Not much of that going on though, which surprised me and made me pleased.
 
in december its gonna be 11 years and that is nuts, phrosty was the shit though of all the old members i wish he would come back
 
I remember watching salomon tv videos on their website which took forever to load because I ha dial up, I have a pair of Candice thovex skis with matching look p12 bindings my dad used like 5 times, they r literally brand new, those r OG
 
Same. Made an account in 09' but have been coming here since 07 looking for ski videos. I dont think my first post in the forums was until like 5 months after I joined.

I remember a few things from those.

A thread that Seth Morrison supposedly posted in and it was like a big fucking deal ha ha.

Members named crazyfuck and seanpistol who frequented NS for some time after...they may be still on NS.

 
I'm super OG been here like 12 years and member number in the first 100!!! wooohooooo!!! changed my name like 10 times and all my videos got erased with the new system.... but still love NS!
 
im prolly the first chinese member so yeah im og. by the olympics i bet there is going to be swarms of asian nsers
