powder99....i said absolutely nothing about my park abilities in either of those posts...i said air sence...witch is part of park, not everything about it...and what i was trying to say about it was that when racers talk shit, they say that they are better than EVERYONE at EVERYTHING...what i'm saying is racers are GOOD at EVERYTHING (probably the best rounded skiers out there) but NOT the BEST at EVERYTHING (newschoolers will be better at jumps, big mountain riders well be better at pow/cliffs, whatever) and the point i was making about me having better air sence was just to show that they can probably out ski me on 50% of the mountain, but i can outdo them on the rest...(and dont think that the 50/50 thing is me being cocky again, becuase i'm not) i respect racers, until they try to make themselves the best (and i dont mean that all racers do that, or that all newschoolers are good at jumps or anything) infact i respect everyone, until they try to make themselves the BEST at EVERYTHING, so read the post for what it says, not what you what it to be.

 
dude, the only reason racers piss me off is because they think they're so much better than us (they really aren't), my friend and i are both total newschoolers, and we spend all the time in the park or the glades except for every couple weeks when we race skierX, and we kick the shit out of all the guys there with racing background, i've already won it twice in two years, so just cuz you race doesn't make you better than us.

why can't we all unite and hate snowlerbladers? all this infighting is making me sick. so many people cross over from newschool to racing and vice versa this whole thread is pointless. and who wouldn't rather ski deep powder than hit the park or race???????

Guys, I'm a mogul skier/freestyler, and i hate racing (notice i said racing not racERS). It's just too god damn mind numbing, moguls would be the same way if it weren't for the jumps and all that mattered was your time.

But i have to admit that racing is a great way to turn your kids into awesome skiers as long as you dont let them do racing all day.

I was never a racer but luckily my mom was a pro instructor and my dad was a crazy rippin old schooler (daffys and everything). they got me started when i was still in diapers and they taught me right.

And yeti, quite possibly the most fun i've ever had with two boards strapped to my feet was in a skier cross race, but i definitely wouldn't train day in and out to do it.

I agree with that other guy, why can't we just unite and hate snowbladers who think that it's cool when they jump up on the flat and do a 360?

 
Racing is gay,... not just the racers. forgetabout it.... Mogual skiers are the most versatile, skiers not racers, because anygood freestyle can ski anything. don't agree, just ask Jonny, or Jp, or anyone else that's ever made it big in the 'Newschool' Newschool isn't even hard, it just takes balls, but going mack 1-0 down a mogual feild now that takes skill. Racing is gay, but it gives you good skiing technik so,

There are just too many idiots on this site that have no idea what there talking about and have know idea about ski racing, so i say lets just all forget about it.

Ya know what, if the title of this post was 'Racing is Gay' there would be 50 people agreeing that racing is gay, but since it says 'Newschoolers are gay' there are 50 people agreeing about how sweet racing is and how they want to start racing.

What the fuck? There are some people who change there opinions on here every fucking post just to agree with it cause some big names on here did. I respect the people in this thread who still say racing is gay cause there actually sticking to what they said before.

Also, why is someone always trying to say that a certain type of skiing has 'the best skiers, hands down', no single fucking discipline has all the best skiers on the hill. There are newschoolers who can ski a hell of alot better than alot of racers and there are alot of racers who can ski a hell of alot better than newschoolers.

I personally dont think racing is gay, I think the way it is run is gay, I think all the fat ass 40 year olds who pressure kids into shit is gay, ski for fun for fuck sakes, dont ski cause some washed up racing coach tells you to. Do what you want when your on the hill. There's some days when I go to the hill and I just cruise blue squares for 6 hours, cause thats what I want to do at the time.

Alot of people on here think that since they have twin-tips they need to be in the park constantly, and cant ski anywhere else on the mountain, cause they are a 'newschool' who does jumps and has to ski the park. Fuck when the park sucks go play I go play on some green runs sometime, I know other people who will pack it in if the park sucks and just go home, what is that, go out and do some damn skiing other than jumps once in a while.
