when are we gonna see a good skiing videogame? there are about a million snowboarding/skateboarding/bmx games on the market, when are skiiers gonna get their own game?has anyone heard if there is one in the works?

 
Well, there is one on the market for ps2. Jonny Mosely's Mad Trix (he he, mad trix, like the ski :D) anyway, the game is horribly unrealistic, and pretty much an interactive video, cuz you can rail for infinite time and such. But i still enjoy it, whats great is if you can find it, it is only like 29 bucks. Graphics arent that great either. It features Jonny, some other fake skiiers, and you can unlock tanner hall and such. But, i havent heard oif any other games in the works :(

 
JMMT bombed cause it sucked so damn hard...if they made a good game it would sell for sure. i mean for fucks sakes, they released a damn pro surfing game.

i found jmmt for $9.99 at media play. BRAND NEW! that's how bad it flopped. tragic...

yeah lineweapon,amped is a fucken awesome game,its hard too,me and friend played that game for like a month nonstop,just play it and smoke,we pretty mastered it

 
I don't even think the guys that made JMMT were professionnals...how can a company put a game on the market with, on the back of it, pictures not even taken from the final version of the game?!? When you rent or buy a game, you always look at the back of it for the graphics quality and take it if it looks good. But on JMMT, the pictures where showing pink skiers with green 220cm skis that weren't even twin tips and those weren't taken from the final version which looked a lot better. That's probably the worst way to advertize a game and the worst commercial move ever. They should have taken at least an other year to correct all the problems. A lot of potential but it was just made too quickly.

 
amped, and all the tony hawk games are awesome, if anything, thats what skiing games should become. God, i hate bmx games

I really think the companies should pursue this because think about it the first snowboarding games and skating games that were ever made sucked major ass and eventually they got it right and now there are great games like amped and espn snowboarding 2002. Like every thing else you need to make some mistakes before you can get it right.

It'd kick ass if neversoft (makers of THPS) came out with a game, I think they make the best extreme sports games. Aan even though we all know if they made a game it'd be Tanner or Jon, but wouldn't it kick ass if they made one starring Mike Douglas? Haha, that'd be tight

yea i guess u guys are right, but whne u think of it, how big did skating get AFTER the release of tony hawk 1, think of it,...the game has progressed the sport INSANELY, but then again, it could have just been time for skating to come back and the quick growth of the sport only came at a coincidental time as the game came out. BUT you never know, all we need is a rich mo fo to shell out money to game companies to make ski games, after a few its got to catch on.

how bout the fact that skating and snowbarding is a hell of a lot cheaper than skiing shit I could buy a snow boar for 50 bucks I couldn't even find soe strait skis for that much.

ok. You can't just say (Skiers name) pro skier. that doesnt describe the game. this is my idea. i have been thinkin about it for a while

Play as a line up of top pro skiers and snowboarders. go to the website and download more athletes

ride ALL of the mountain. ( iwas thinkin whistler or Mammoth, and download new mts and new terrain in comming seasons.) also, an extensive list of progressively harder urban rails and jibs would be ridable too.

besides for standard gameplay, there would be a Park editor. In the park editor, you could set the lenght of the run, the slope, and all sorts of custom terrain.

Now, heres the best part of the game, aand def the most unique. Filming mode.

you would save a run down the mountain, or in the park, and select a location from the map. once there, you could move around, and get all sorts of crazy camara angles.

It would prolly be an expenive game, but i think i could see it being very fun and REALISTIC

lots of skiiers on the game..pick one! each having their own special attributes like rails,jumps,pipe,park,big mountain,speed, and on and on winning a comp or getting a good score gives you a couple more attirbutes which you can add to wherever you need it..or want it..you save your character with these attributes (they can be pros or a local)every once in a while theres a competition..modeled after real comps..red bull,mega muther hucker,x games..with sponsors and can get prizes skis gear and money from the sponsors of the comp..and there would be slope style,pipe runs,big mountain, and others,..ALL MOUNTAINS are authentic and detailed..because who the fuck wants to ski in downtown san fransisco again,and when you beat everything you can use the build a mountain or build a park feature with new rails and hits..kind of like what they did with matt hoffmans pro BMX...hows that

if i can make a suggestion the jumps shouldn't be shitty like in mosely, those little things with red arrows, they should be like real big tables, step ^ or step downs, hips etc...

 
3do blows. fuck them for not coming out with a 2nd release, it wouldn't be that hard to improve from what they had, just delete all of the unrealistic shit, and increase the difficulty. and fuck freeze for not covering the story of how much 3do needs to step up. they review other vids and shit but don't even mention a ski game. it can be done, and well. we have the technology...

 
Dude has anyone talked to any companies like the one which makes tony hawk? If not someone should say thos ideas you guys just said, I would pay a lot for a game like that!

 
agreed. someone, preferably with connections in the gaming industry, should put together a good proposal for a game. maybe something would get something accomplished instead of just bitching about how shitty jmmt is.

i say we turn to freeze, because other magazines with transworld have made games, transworld snowboarding is out and transworld surfing is coming out, freeze is with transworld we should ask for there help and hound activision(makers of thps) constantly with emails tellig them why we need a good pro skiing game, we could also ask nick mercon to help cuz hes got the game colum in freeze.

skiing's gettn bigger, through the four years ive been skiing ive seen a lot of ppl switch from boarding, it's only a matter of time before a million posers start flooding into the skiing community and they make a game flooding the ski community with more posers. i usta skate, then thps came out and mad posers flooded the park, made me quit.

 
if they made tanner hall pro skier (thps) tons of dumbshits would confuse it with tony hawk pro skater (thps). do you see it?! YEAH! trick them into buying it! sorry, that probably wouldn't work...

There is Jonny Moseley Mad Tricks availble to play on youre PC. You need to download a Gameboy emulator though. It's quit funny and better than pickin youre nose, only sad thing is there are only old schooltricks.
