"Newschool skiing" wiki article

I doubt anybody gives a shit, but I just wikipedia'd newschool skiing while I was in the lab working on a paper before class, and the article is total garbage. 70% of it appears to have been written by total morons. It'd be nice if someone could go in and actually add some relevant stuff to it. A section about backyard sessions seems pretty pointless if you ask me, and the whole section on skiing lingo is retarded too since A) nobody outside of the sport cares, and B) it changes every month. Those are just two problems I had with it. Like I say, most of you guys probably don't care, but it's kind of embarassing when the wiki article that describes our whole sport is as poorly written and laced with irrelevant information as the article about Chamillionaire.

So if anybody has any time today or is just bored as hell, go and mess with it. It makes us look like a bunch of douchebags. I'm sure it can be improved.

i think its actually a well written article. Prop could add terrian park to the terrian list but they are mentioned in the article.

Wait... isn't the whole point of wikipedia that general public can update stuff? Why don't you just update it?

That doesn't really seem that bad. If you've got issues with it you could just change it or ask the people who wrote it to edit it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Newschool_skiing).

The reason it's lame is because morons from this site go on and change it all the time in an attempt to be funny. It's all opinion... the influential riders section changes every time you go on there, if that section is even still there. it used to be a pretty good, informative atricle. the first time it was royally messed with was when b-crew decided to add all sorts of shit to it.

"Contrary to popular belief, the K2 Poacher was the first mass produced

twin tip ski to hit the market. Dynastar's Concept, Salomon's 1080, and

Rossignol's Pow Air were not far behind."

well thats interesting

"The Newschool Skier is related more to the snowboarder in his/her style than to the traditional skier's style."

hahahahahahaa

it's not true, the poacher was never on the market. Only reps and athletes got them ( I know this from a rep that gave me a pair).

its actual very informative:

"Any skiing outside the prepared or marked trails is referred to as

backcountry or off-piste skiing. This form of skiing is probably the

most mortally dangerous (depending on where and how you do it) because

of the high speeds, large drops (sometimes with hidden rocks in the

landing), goblins and avalanches."

thanks to the glories of wikipedia, now everyone can check for the level of goblin danger when skiing in the BC

the definition for a table top jump reads like a 5 year old has written it.

an steez wasnt included in newschool lingo which is dissapointing but atleast newschoolers got a mention.
