Newest Sugarbush Hype, it sounds for real this time.

I got this email from a person at sugarbush detailing an actual plan of attack for the park this year. The locations great with its own lift (and pass) but the features, rail contruction and managment have been lacking. but it finally seems like they the hint (ie: angry screams and threatening phone calls) and they're spending the $ and bringing in the pros. cheers

We have made a deal with an outfit called Super ParX, out of southern

California, to provide us with rail feature building, training, and park

layout and build services. Their website is www.superparx.com

They will be building 22 new high-quality rail features:

* 4 - 2ft wide x 2ft tall x 20ft long T- boxes

* 4 - 2ft wide x 2ft tall x 10ft long T- boxes

* 4 - 6 inch wide x 2ft tall x 10ft long rail slide

* 4 - 6 inch wide x 2ft tall x 20ft long rail slide

* 1 - 20ft wide x 6ft tall mid size wall ride

* 1 - 20ft wide x 4ft tall mini wall ride

* 2 - 2ft wide x 30ft long " 10ft up x 10ft flat x 10ft down " gateway

box

* 2 - 2ft wide x 20ft long rolled on 20ft radius curve boxes

We will also refurbush some existing features to bring them up to the

level of the new ones.

Our plan is to have two parks at Mt Ellen, one on lower Straight Shot

above the base lodge (former halfpipe site and above), one on

Reimergasse.

The Straight Shot park will be more of a jib scene down toward the

lodge, with a halfpipe (not a superpipe) above the jib park. The jib

park will be built and open by Christmas week. The pipe may or may not

be done by Christmas depending on snowmaking temperatures. The halfpipe

will really be a "mini-pipe" with a likely radius of around 8'.

The Reimergasse park will be more advanced-level, fewer rail features

and more jump features, and will be coming on line in early January.

You are aboslutely correct, we are spending the money (3x as much) and we are making the effort to correct and misconceptions about what Sugarbush Resort offers and what we represent.

We want to be the #1 destination for skiers and riders in the East and we are moving in the right direction. Thanks for the props.

hopefully this works, but its the same stuff he already mentioned

They've made promises like that the past two years and never came through, so there is no way that I am believing it this time. If it's good this year, maybe I'll go back next year, but I am definately riding Smuggs instead.

It is happening. I work on their snowmaking compressors and the guys from Super ParX were building the flats last week. All of the steel was being hauled to the shop at Mt.Ellen to build more.
