I am totally new to skiing...been a snowboarder since 92, and thought I'd give skiing a try, as I used to like playing on snowblades. Anyway, I bought a pair of K2 Public Enemy's, and plan on trying everything out...all mountain if you will. I noticed that the sidewall of the ski has markings on it that show core centre, and numbers back from there. My question is this...where should the centre of the boot line up with these numbers for the bast all around riding? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

i know the factory mounting point on the PEs is very far back for freeskiing purposes, if are you going to be skiing strictly all mtn then this would be fine...
however if you are going to be riding switch and in the park for some of your time then moving the mount forward, if the marking on the side have a "true" center mark i would think about maybe-2/ -3 back from there, if they dont have this mark just take a tape measure and measure tip to tale and divide by 2 and go from there. This is my opinion and generally where i mount my skis that i am doing everything with, hope this helps

k2s website has a pretty good scale for it. but if your doing all mountain i'd mount +2 or 3 from midsole. if you want to do any park mount it at core center (the farthest forward on the sidewall)

The shop where I got the skis recommended mounting the middle of my boot sole right in the middle of the scale given on the sidewall of the ski. I can't remember 100% but I think the forward most one says core centre, and I won't know where that is in relation from true centre until I measure them...I'm at work right now, so I'll have to wait a couple hours. Is what the shop recommends too far back for playing around on in the park if I choose?

I had Public Enemies mounted at the +5.5 mark and they were good for all mountain and playing around in the park.

The shop wants to mount them at the +4 mark...is this too far back? I don't want to limit myself to the type of riding. I want to be able to shi the mountain, and play around on them as well. I checked the forward most point, and it say's core centre, but is definitly not the ski centre...it's quite a bit back from the true centre. Anyone else want to chime in?

def core center. PE are solid everywhere ski from all mtn to park. because its an all mtn/park ski and not a dedicated park ski, the core center is a little bit back from true center so you can rip the mtn as well. core center is money on the PE

yea my friend has the PE and the core center marking is like 2-3 cm back. mount there, its a good place for all mountain and park. i had a pair mounted at the 4 cm mark and i didnt like them, they felt to sluggish and heavy.

-2 from core center seems perfect, especially on the PE's................ you will have fun with them
