Whats up everybody... A few friends and I have decided that we are coming to New Zealand in late july to early August this year. We are from California and ride at Mammoth alot and have heard nothing but good input about New Zealand. Some information about the best ski area to spend our money at for park and another area for just normal powder riding, as well as the best and cheapest places to stay would be phenomenal. Any help would be great because I really want some insider info from locals to make our decisions.

yo if you've heard about snow park the hype is for real this place is sweet. best park in nz fo sho. for general powpow rippin i would say treble cone and the cantebury club fields. it depends on your budget but best place to locate hq would be wanaka, where im from. its got snowpark, treble cone and cardrona which has good park too within 30 minutes. the cantebury club fields are the shit for dirt cheap riding with shit lifts no people lots of snow but noo park. wanaka and

dunno bouta park wasnt one when i last went up there, but t-bar, nut-cracker and a small area 2 ski mainly ungroomed, moguled out hard~ coated with a layer of ice on the top adding to the icing on the cake.... sounds inviting dosent it!

yeh thats for sure!! i went there once and there was this jump that someone had built but heaps of snow had obviously melted. so without lookin i hit the jump and there was like know snow on the landing just like volcanic rock mixed with tussock. any of you guys seen NASM? there are a few shots of sven kunhle this euro kid in there from snowpark. pretty sick unatty lipslide the DFD stomps the shit out of it. also in the white album there is like a whole segment from snow park!! so if you wanna see what it is like up there i would say check out the white album. soo sick. ummm i cant be bothered writing ne more so im stopping now.

nah it was at cardies. lsat year there second booter in the park was super steep and you needed fuck all speed to clear. he had been hitting it like all day and doing fine until he just decided to hit it switch. he dropped in from like the top of the inrun and straighlined it. cleared the jump by like 20ft and landed in the flat on his head. it looked like he was going for a switch rodeo but just freaked in the air. he like knocked himself out cold and started like foaming at the mouth and shit pretty knarly. that was july last year.

I read his interview in nzskiier mag last year and he said that he was gonna be more careful or somthin....maybe not

oh and come to canterbury it has good club fields for powder and mthutt for park plus it has a new 6 seater

bk, let me know when you plan on heading down there. My plan right now is to stay down there for their whole season. It would be fun to ride with some other Californians out in NZ.

I remember the days up taranaki where sam hazeldine was still at school and he'd do the biggest helis as they were called back in the day and massive daffys, taranki is the shit, no two ways around it and on its day, the top tow can't be beaten in NZ.

Its 5 in the afternoon and me and a few boys see that theres a front coming so we pack the car, drive up and by the time we reach the fox, its dark and snowing hard, predictions were correct we walk the track, gear on the fox and get to the lodge, have something to eat and a couple of shots of vodka, ire up the t-bar,click in and hit the lights. Snow mobile, groomer, fresh pow just me and 3 mates. We owned it that night. never will forget that. y most fond memories of manganui skifield. SIIICK.

Miss it already.

May all your interventions be Humanitarian.
