New York out of state employment

I'm really considering moving out to my family's house in Ellicotville NY. Is there anything I would have to do in order to be eligible to work?

I'm pretty sure most applications will ask if you are legally allowed to work in the United States. I don't think it matters what state you're in or from. My friend from Vermont works in New York while we're in college so I think you'll be fine.

Are you an American citizen? If the answer is yes than you're fine. You can work in any state you can get a job. If you want to work in another country then you're going to need a work visa.

This is correct. The only issue that may come up is if you have a license in something such as psychology, teaching, etc. These licenses are usually granted at the state level and you would have to apply for (and test for and pay for) a NY license. NY is known to have some of the strictest and most difficult licensing.
