22/23 years old, enough airmiles for 2 roundtrip flights from TOR - NYC, want to go down from toronto with my gf for a few nights. Im already 45 mins from toronto where I live, dont really want to do the touristy empire state statue of liberty thing.. Worth the trip? Epic city? or waste of the hard earned skrill and bank/hide the miles from this bitch?
 
check out places to stay first if youre on a budget and arent against staying in a hostel you could most likely find a private for like 50-75 total cheepest way to do it
 
there's cool bars and stuff there, you're of drinking age so you're fine. maybe go to a yankees / mets game? tons of shopping and stuff, there's a lot to do besides go to the touristy stuff
 
having not been to toronto i dont think it will be worth it if you go just for the hell of it/not the touristy stuff. i mean theres not much you cant do in nyc but that could be said for a lot of cities. plus your prolly not gonna wanna go see a show so not much point. but again it is an experience and i think everyone should go once in their lifetime. if i were you i would bring a strict ammount of cash otherwise it will prolly dissapear in some form or another. pro tip skip the restaurants for lunch and breakfast and eat from a vendor. bagels are pretty cheap and the best in the country and for lunch hit up a halal and grab some chicken and rice. yankee games are killer and you should see if there are any concerts at the bowery or terminal 5. anyways nyc can be fun even if you dont have an agenda cuz you can do anything
 
nyc is the shit. there's soooo much more to it than statue of liberty, empire state, etc. everyone should check it out at least once.
 
serious waste of your miles....seriously go on a tropical vacation or something or atleast take a cruise out of NYC instead of staying there. Iv lived 45 minutes outside of NYC my whole life....

honestly its nice being this close to the city and being of drinking age and trains being close its a great time. Then again, its soooo much money to do shit in the city, the train alone is 20 bucks round trip. There are cool things to do here but i wouldn't really say its thatttt cool. I mean bars and nightlife can be real fun but if your with your gf and just chilling, not worth the trip honestly.

There are great restaraunts, museums, etc but when it comes down to it, its not really that exciting. Then again, any other city iv been to has been such a bitch city compared to NYC.

do it, nyc is awesome. the food is great, bars and nightlife is great, there are cool museums and shit to check out, etc etc. plus most of new york's charm is just how bustling and alive it feels, everywhere else will seem slow by comparison after haha.
