New vid cam

ya, you can pick up an HDR-FX1 pretty cheap these days. or a VX2100, but if he can afford the fx1, go for it.
 
if your buying online, stick with BHPhoto or amazon basically. Don't buy from shady sites that offer super low prices, they're all scams.
 
fx1 but then he needs a nice computer for editing hd, so if not gl2 or whatever that canon thing is called in north america... europe is xm2
 
don't get an xl1. it was one of the earliest DV cams ever released, and technology has come soooo far since then.
 
ya thats wat i told him + there huge but he wont listen to me i told him to get a vx2000 or cheaper used from bh but he wont listen

ha but i would say if you can find the fx1 for a price he can afford get that, if not then finding a DVX for that price will be cake....
New panasonics, the 150 and 170, are being released till fall, wait till then because the price SHOULD drop a few hundred dollars.
