New version of Salomon SPK sucks!!

I guess Salomon has gone totally insane - the new Salomon SPK (Ghost FS 90) is a piece of shit. They have removed all of the features that made SPK boots so much better than others - no more Quicklace system, no more rubber toe. Instead they even made the strap narrower - why? Probably they zero freeskiers in their development team. Retards.

What do you think about it?
 
I think FS 90 should be gray) as in this video ...


Perhaps this was done to unify with ghost and reduce costs in the production.

I've seen some go in ghost 110 and 130 - 98 mm wide vs. 100 at FS.

Yes no lacing, but there are slots for it, insole thicker than SPK + thermosoft insole

But is said in the FS90 more flex than in the SPK 100, need the 2 screws.
 
The ghost fs I. A big step forward I terms of performance. The spk was goo when it was first release back in 06 but things have moved on. The shape of the spk was not great for fitters to work with. The ghost fs features most of the best parts of the spk. The rubber toe was a hard thing to do. Basically it is hard to add it to a bi injected shell but it does not mean it's gone for good it just need some redesigning. In terms of laces you can add tem if you want. Honestly go try them. If you liked the spk you will more then likly enjoy the ghost fs much more. Also being a 100mm last will mean a lot of feet which fit full tilt but could not wear the spk as it was too wide will now be able to fit into the ghost. I am gettin a pair for a long term test so I'll get my initial review up as soon as I can.
 
I sell a lot of SPK's and FT. In 80% of the cases everybody is very happy with SPK, because they fit well and they are very comfy. Most people (including me) who comes at my shop and tries FT, complain about them hurting their feet just trying them on.

SPK's are the only boots I could ski all day ~8h and I didn't even need to open them up during lunch break.

I change them every 1.5 - 2 years (or I change only the inner boot) - I ski around 60-70 days per year.

I ski SPK's since they appeared back in 2006.

Then you will for sure like the ghost fs. As I said it's a huge step forward in terms of performance. You will easily be able to make the forefoot as wide and everything else is very similar. Try them and I'm sure you will be impressed.
 
salomon boots = soft, bitchy

all these boots suck I bought a pair off a foriegner when he was going home, tried them on they felt comfortable and easy n fast to put on

next season I go to actually use them and they are the softest bitchiest crappy boots I have ever had the misfortune to ski in.

It felt like every ripple in the snow folded the boot forward, practically no better than how I imagine skiing in full tilts unbuckled. oh except with the liner done up with some faggy quick lace system #garbage
 
Whenever I have tried on the SPK's they are always way to soft. Yea I dont ski park 100% of the day but to give up that outside performance so you can pop switch better seems a little crazy to me.

The spk alway suffered from a rather soft lateral flex this is one area the ghost fs is much better. The flex is 90 or 100 but can be easily stiffened up to 120. The spk was a good boot but is out of date now. The ghost is a goo improvement
