i bet normal ear phones are easily loud enough but the point of the tune ups is to enable u to still be able to hear ur surroundings and allow u to keep space between the helmet and ur ears instead of squishing head phones in there.
i just put my ear buds from my ipod in the ear of my helmet fuck tune ups

yeah tuneups are the word. the earflaps keep you warmer than the regular ones, the sound good, there's a mute switch, good investment. this coming from a person who made his own tuneups a couple years ago and has skied with earbuds too.
alright sweet guys thanks for that and they do make tune ups for the bad lt. and u do not have to buy them with the helmet they are also sold seperatly
great sound, perfect comfort, havent had any problems with snow or anything messing them in... the only problems with my tune ups II is that its almost impossible to hear music and people at the same time since you have to have music playing in both ears all the time. i wish you could unhook or mute one hear so you can hear people talk....

tuneups are the shit, they earpads are beefier and warmer plus the sound is good. It also has a quick mute button on the cord for when some tourist is trying to talk to you on the lift
