It seems like the new thing lately is too mix in rap with some rock. Jay-Z and Linkin Park and now Ludacris with Sum 41. For like 4 months now I have been hearing about the new M.O.P. CD that is a bunch of Rock beats mixed in with hip hop. The only song I have heard is a song with the Ironman beat and it is so sick!!! The whole CD will be like that. I think it is called the Mash Out Posse. Obviously, MOP. And I think they are comin out with a CD like a month after that called Ghetto Warfare. Check that stuff out when it comes.

yeah that run dmc/aerosmith song first introduced tons of people to hip hop. if hip hop is reversing its trends, maybe we'll get more rakim and gangstarr and less 50 cent and gggggggunit.

i hate that shit. jay z and linkin park was awful, they took two entirely different types of music and just threw them together putting no effort to make them cohesive at all. just a big gimmick by mtv to sell cd's.

It's ok if you can appreciate the mixing. Like the Danger Mouse Gray Album. The Beatles beats with Jay-Z lyrics dont sound too awesome, but it's pretty sick that d-mouse did that. creative shit.

Hope you got your shots cuz this is lyrical malaria.
 
i find the new mos def cd has alot of harder stuff kinda sounds like rock and stuff, i hate it....

^^thats because the album is supposed to be like that. Shit, you should know Mos Def is all about trying to prove to everyone Black People can do more than rap. He has a rock band (with all black members) called Black Jack Johnson...he wants to restore what he says white man stole.

im not a fan of that mos def stuff, i'll give him props for his musically ability, but i just can't listen to that stuff.

um, yes they are. linkin park is weak metal with depressing lyrics and a little bit of "rapping," while jay z is straight hip hop with lyrics about drugs, sex, and money.
