New timelapse crit - Seasonal Change

Hey guys

So i understand timelapse's get boring and have lost a lot of meaning recently. Anyway, I moved to bozeman over the summer and scoped out some places to shoot during the change between summer, fall and occasionally winter.

I tried to keep it short and sweet. Kept it in a slower pace but think it could have been sped up quicker.

Take a look and as always critique. Thanks

That was an awesome timelapse man. Really beautiful locations and the colors are awesome !

Hope to see more timelapse videos from you ;)

that was very cool. How did you do the barbed wire movement in the still mountain shot? was it in post or did you gradually bring it into the shot or what? I looked cool with no movement in the frame

the star shoot was great too, you don't see too many of those and they always look dope when done right

thanks!

I was using a 6ft dolly and used it in between 2 layers of barbed wire. I basically held one layer down so the camera could move through it. I had the camera move backward while keeping the same position as the mountain

so good! Time-lapse shots confuse me. Some shoot wide and use editing to zoom or move the frame slowly and some use dollys correct? For dolly use, are they mechanical where they slowly move automatically or does the camera person slowly and steadily move the camera?

i have a motorized dolly in which i can dial in the speed and set it to move for a certain period of time!

Thanks!

Wow that was really impressive. Great locations and execution overall!

The only thing I would say is that I noticed that your milky way TL's were noisy as all heck. But hey, you know it's a good video when that's my biggest complaint. Nice work!

Awesome stuff!

Really beautiful locations.

My critiques:

- Deflicker your sequences during the day - there was a lot of flicker during that dolly/barbed wire shot that killed the shot a little for me

- I think you could have better placed the graduated filter on the milky way at 1:30 so that it wasn't so orange at the bottom before the mountains

- The one sunset shot toward the end over the city was not very good IMO

Thank Gavin! much appreciated!

Any suggestions on deflickering? I've showed this to a few "big" tlapse people and that was the biggest issue, aside from my noisy milky way shot.

Really nice work man. Saw it shared by some Bozemanite friends on FB and was surprised to see you made it!

My only critique is that there was too much wide-angle (for my liking anyways).
