wow, just went to warren miller and got this poster with a picture of the two mountains and saw the new chair.its crazy opens a tone of new space for GREAT POW SKIING ! cant wait to go up.

Yeah, I went to the snowshow yesterday and was talking to one of the Whistler reps and they said that the symphony chair is going to be up and running for opening day.

yes, some great new beginner terrain. More pow in the horseshoes for me, less line-up at the harmony, i guess it evens out in the end. Doub the flute bowl traffic will increase that much...

it'll be interesting to see how it changes the area, like in terms pushing ppl out further into flute, oboe and beyond. might ruin crocodile rock, robertsons and the other ridge entrances to sun bowl,.. who knows. the road from bottom of sun bowl back to harmony will still be as flat and slow as ever.. i'll miss the hikes up to piccalo with buddies and smoking blunts ontop on nice days, and never forget riding an avalanche down the south face from the top of piccalo down past burnt stew last season, that shit was intense. ruins some pow stashes, but might open up some new sick ones. so we'll see! change is cool

It doesn't really open up anything that a 5 minute boot pack wouldn't except make it easier to get to the flute access, you still have to hike flute, so really it's just putting people closer to look at lines they wouldn't have been motivated to ski anyways, expect more traffic. whatever

I think its a good thing for 2 reasons: 1, It eliminates the hike out of Flute; 2, it will take pressure off Harmony with lots of families/tourists skiing the easy terrain in Symphony bowl.

He probably meant official opening day, the 24th, they pushed an early open afte rlots of snow

Nah, it's set for an opening on December 16th. It'll be interesting to see how it changes traffic up there.

official day is dec 16. they are auctioning off the second chair, behind the vanoc and ioc guys, yeah lets pay $500 for a chair!

its going to make flute busy as shit because it will eb so much easier to get aroudn out there
