new style of comps

ok i have this idea in my head for a new way to have competitions. If there are any rollerbladers out there youll know exactly what im talking about.

basically we name a mountain people sign up by e mail (cuz ill satrt workin on the site for it if people sound interested). everyone shows up at the mountain and the first round is held on say a straight rail. Competitors compete in jam format. basically its like the game horse or skate in skatebaording.where someone will start the round off and othe competetitors in that group will either have to match or better the first trick so they will not be eliminated. after that round the feild is narrowed down and we move to lets say one wall in the pipe. then that gets narrowed down so we move to a table. you get the idea. we continue until we are down to 4 or six left (depending on the turn out). they go at it to determine a winner. since its a new concept id say each competitor throws in 5 bucks winner take all.

the sport may not be ready for this, this may not even be possible and im not saying people will like it, im just throwing it out there to see if people would be interested. respond with your thoughts and if enough are interested ill make a site that gives all the info needed.

thats sounds fun for a bunch of friends fuckin around, but for an actual comp. GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. its all about setting up a backcountry slopestyle course consiting of 2 rails one with a 20 foot cliff after it, 3 or 4 jumps and a big a back country quarter at the bottom. that would be insane.

sacrifice, to some its just a word, to others it is a code, what matters is the colony, he is willing to live for the colony, fight for the colony, die for the colony.

 
it sounds like it'd be a fun way for a lot of people on NS to meet and just chill and have a good time and see who has skills...i'd do it if i didn't suck

that would be cool but:

1. PIG air is already a contest

2. if somone was really really good at rails but sucked at everything else, or vise versa, the comp could get real old real fast.

well its really not organized. wed just show up. the mountain wouldnt even know we were holding a caomp. hey man im not expecting people to want to do it. just an idea.

 
why stay away from tables? and so are u thinking of this as idea for a real comp. or like for friends getting together to fuck around

this is a mad game, i have bladders do it but they called it battle my stall, which i think was a cool name, this a mad game but only fun if you keep the tricks simple, 'battle my grab' would be cool, rails this would work really well.

that sounds sweet man, but where are you organizing these things yo?

Do it.

Make the site able for people to just put up the idea and be like 'Yo, we're going to be here on this day, and we're going to do it.'

Then people can participate or not, it'd be fun.

Get it going, I'll do one in my area.

it would be great if somebody closed down a street in a city filled it with snow and threw a street comp.

It would also be sweet if somebody set up a street course at a ski hill with just benches, handrails, picnic tables and walls and stuff.

Probably both have already been done, but i haven't seen it.

gettin some good responses here. ill start workin on thesite. the reason we would stay away form tables would be because it would jusat turn into another 'big air comp'. we dont want that.mostly rails boxes. this will prob be all east coast mtns but im hoping others around the country will take it upon them selves and start their own. ill tell you when the site is up.

 
its the same as a slopestyle, only instead of hitting it all in one run, u do one feature at a time, taking up way more time, making it less exciting, and aloowing people who excell at one event to beat someone who is an all around skier.

we need a slopestyle so bad at my hill...to bad the tight suit mofia owns the only run that we would use for the slope-style

 
yeah sounds tight but how do you determine which trick is better than another??

I mean if some dude throws a hucked 1080 in the pipe is that better than a styled 540 mute??

Are switch railslides worth more than normal railslides??

**heres my idea for some modifications, no elimination just get points for each displine ie: 100 points for a rail, extra 30 points for style other competors vote on points. Most points at the end of day wins
