It is that time of month again, chapter 8 it the life and times.
So I find myself sitting at Zgengs internet cafe again, contemplating my life and how petty it seems when thousands of people are being murdered every day, and how I would feel if a bomb dropped out of the sky and killed my whole family in front of my eyes and I had to carry their dying bodies to the emergency room of the hospital that is covered in blood, where hundreds of people are dead and dying.
So I ate a really good donair just now. Some guy walked up to me and asked if it was good. I said yes and kept eating it. It was good. So Where to begin...done so many things......hmmm.
Well I was in court today, dealing with that ticket when I crashed that civic. It's all good now. So Let's take it back...
It's middle of feb, just moved to lake louisem, liftee at the hill. Livin in Charleston staff residence.....never partied like this in my life.....gets kinda sketch sometimes, people comin in at 4 am, railing lines on the stove, people no one knows, but whatever, all part of the game i guess.
So My roommates are dropping like flies, when I first moved in, a guy was leavin with a busted leg, then another busted his chin on a rail, 10 stiches, another had 47 stiches in his leg, then he broke his ankle a few weekd later, he went home, then i had a fall, cleared a 20 foot table completely, my body was hurtin for a while, then 2 days later, another guy cleared the 30 foot table, busted his nose, 2 black eyes, and stiches under his eye, then 3 days after that, his brother cleared the jump i cleared, smashed down, broke 6 ribs, collapsed a lung and was airlifter to the hospital for a week. Yesterday, my other roommate got airlifted too, fractured skull and shattered wrist. Shit, there's only 2 left now/ there were 6.
There's this trail that comes down from the chateau to the village, and it's the perfect width to put a snowboard into. We built up some corners, and we get all loaded and hike up, sit on the boards and rip down in the dark, it's awesome. I've been getting pretty ballsy lately, i dropped a 35-40 foot cliff at sunshine, and me n aric dropped sick shit in a canyon. I got the shots, ill scan em sometime. So I got some bar stories, Ill write about those next time, but I got taken home one night with three british chicks..Hi CAZ!!!..and ended up sleeping next to some wierd guy who worked at the hotel. what a sketchbag. Those chicks smoked him silly. Yeah, anyways, here's a story:
There was a staff trip to Fernie, but I was working the first day, so i set out to hitch after work. I got my monster mask on and my cardboard sign. I get a lift out to a junction and im chillin outthere. Im chillin...chillin......it's gettin dark and cold, and fernie is still 3 hours away. Hmmmm. the lake is 30 min the other way. Should I bail? I start packin up my shit, and all of a sudden, this song comes on, some techno beat, and a woman's voice just says, 'Don't stop' and that's it. So I get all pumped, Im not goin anywhere, I can survive a night in the cold, I got clothes and a box of crackers, im good. So Im dancin in the middle of the road with my mask on, all alone, and the old rich people staying at the fairmont driving by thinking im a psycho. So This van pulls over, and it's 2 old guys with nice road bikes. and these guys were really cool, Life guides, they had a lot of answers. I was all high from the joint i smoked like 20 min earlier, and im seein so many faces in the mountains it's freaky. seriously, I've never tripped so hard. So many faces.......unreal. So I drink this water he has, full of electrolytres and shit, his daughter runs marathons, it was just what i needed. I get to Cranbrook at 1 Am, and chill out waiting for a ride. Get on, and get to Fernie at 2, get into the hotel, find my buddies, crash, and get up to ski the next morning. It's raining all the way up the mountain. ALL OVER THEIR NEW 100 CMS OF POWDER!!!! Whatever, i head out with the aussie boys, and it was so much fun, droppin chutes and shit..we find this wickid jump and hike it for a while, doin flips and watching avalanches behind us all afternoon. Avalanghes are the coolest things. the sound is amazing. So I hopped on the greyhound to go back, the driver lets us all get hammed, and pulls over for dube breaks....it was sweet.
That wa my trip to fernie.
Im runnin out of time at the cafem, so Im off to visit my roommate, later all
