Hey, sorry for making another post liek this but i need to chose soon.Im looking for a fat all mountain ski.I weight about 100lbs and im 5'5'. I usually ski Jay, Stowe,Gore,Whiteface,Killington, Solitude, Snowbasin,Pow Mow,Alta,Snowbird..yes all of them

So far these are what I'm looking into

1.Volkl Karma

2.Atomic Stomps

3.Big Troubles

4.Legend 8800s

5.Scratch BC's

6.Seth Pistols/Vicious

7.Volkl Mantra(2006)

8.Bandit B3(2006)

9.Pes(2006)

10.Salomon Guns

Thanks for any help and please no salomon sucks and anything sucks

 
I would suggest the surface cussions their 95 under foot so they would be perfect

^^I'd say don't go with Surface, go with a more reputable company. You'd have to cross Seth Pistols/Viscious off your list because they don't come shorter than 169. Same with the Mantras, Scratch BC's, Stomps, Bandit B3's, The Karma. Leaving you with the PE's, Guns, Big Troubles and Legend 8800s. The best skis out of those are probably the Public Enemy and the Big Troubles, but no one can be sure because no one has ridden these skis yet, save for a select few. Big Troubles/Guns/Legends would suit you best though because they have a wider waist than the PE, regardless of how much better the PE's are in other conditions.

yea, i let my friends watch sometimes when they get bored. ive rented out some bleachers for them to sit in actually, im thinking of making big foam hands with 'no jaime! not in there!' written on them.

karma is my suggestion, i ski that this year and i am very impressed, deep deep snow, not the best, but thats y you get a true pow ski like the gotama.

I would reccomend LINE 05/06 models coming soon. They will have pollards, motherships, and the new badass all mountain phropets. Even the fuckin chronics due decent in the pow. If you are going know go with something else if not wait till fall and get one of the New LINE SKIS coming out. You will be happy you waited!!

 
You're 5'5' so the Seths in a 169 should be fine. I'm a skinny 5'8' and ride the 179s no problem.

salomon pocket rockets (allthough not on your list)- I think this ski is truely one of the best hybrids and allround ski you can get. Super light weight, flex and twintip for park, and fat for pow and big mtn, and responsive for cruising the resort. I love them they also come in 165 which sounds perfect for you.

look into public enemies(159). they are great for all mountain and i like them a lot for powder. they have a 80 mm waist.

good call beep, I saw those Line's at SIA and would love to check 'em out on a pow day. Definitely fat enough but also not too long (a tad short perhaps), could be a good recommendation.

it's all very exciting.
 
Get a pair of LINE SKIS there are many to chose from this years models you could get Eric Pollards, Mick Nicks, Skogan Sprangs, Chronics or pretty much any of the LINE SKIS are good. Buy LINE SKIS BECAUSE SKIING NEEDS A FUTURE!!!!

 
THanks for all the replys guys..I ski a 170 right now and i dont think id go shorter than 165 so all those skis would still be on my list.

for sure get the Karmas or the stomps... those are both my dream skis, but i didn't get them do to price factors. I got a pimp deal on my public enemies. Anyways karmas or stomps for sure.

ive skied most of those working at the shop and i really like the volkl mantra but it doesnt have much of a tail if your planning on skiing the park with it as well

I was thinking the karmas,pistols,or 8800's with a fritschi diamir, but do these break easily when hucking cliffs?I would use these as my all mountain/touring ski and have my ar5s as my urban,park,and rock skis.

 
don't listen to the guy in caps. Chronics are no good. The edges fall out and next year's graphics are horrible.
