New skis, maybe on3p

Hello everyone, how is it going. I need new skis. I live in Oregon, so it gets good snow. I like to do everything on the mountain, such as going fast on groomers and maybe going in some powder but nothing too crazy. But, now I need a ski that can do that, but also park, because I'm getting into park skiing, and want to start doing tricks. I am 6'1 and 195 pounds. I was looking at the ON3P Jeffrey 100's, maybe 181 cm because I heard good things about them, but I'm wondering if anyone would have some other recommendations for me. Thanks everyone!

Ski in Tahoe, 6’2 150 and love my Jeffrey 108 in a 186, since you’re considerably heavier I’d get the 186 Jeff 100, especially with a more progressive mount at like -4ish from center they don’t feel long at all

Whatever you get make sure it's ~190 length. With that height and weight you shouldn't have any issue yeeting those around. (I have now become an advocate for long skis. None of that chin height bullshit.)

I would recommend against ON3P. Very overpriced and if you’re taking it to the park then would make even less sense since the Jeffery isn’t a very good park ski and you don’t want to bang up a ski that expensive on rails.

check out the armada ARV 94 or 100, or the moment wildcat/deathwish. Those are very good all mountain and more reasonable on pricing.

sorry but how the hell you got -1000 karma that’s impressive

As someone who owns both I'd say the Jeffrey is probably a slightly better choice for park than the Wildcat, both are great all mountain skis but there are better park options out there, so really be honest with yourself about how much park you'll really be doing

The Wildcat is a 116 width ski and the deathwish is a 112. And not any cheaper than Jeff’s. lol wrong

The Jeffery was literally made for people like you. Do everything, last forever, super fun, charging ski. I am 5'11" or 6' and I ride a 186 Jeff. I think the length is perfect, so you being slightly taller than me, I would absolutely go the 1 step longer. There's really not much a Jeff 100 won't do

ON3P’s were literally designed to ski Oregon snow & terrain so I’d say if you can get a pair do it. Super fun and bombproof.

What? Both the wildcat and deathwish come in various widths.

Don't listen to the trolls here, OP. A couple of randos on here like to hate on ON3P for attention.

ON3Ps were literally designed with skiing Oregon in mind, and the extra $50-100 if you pay retail are more than worth it for their build quality. Moments are great skis too but I would say the Jeff 100 leans a little more to the park side of things than moments do.

If you're on a budget- Keep an eye out on Facebook Marketplace for skis that may fit your style and try some out. If you aren't on a strict budget then ON3Ps work.

Skis are designed for snow. You’re free to waste your money on anything you want but let’s not act brainwashed here lmao. Buying a ski because it was “designed for oregon” is a new level of cope, bud.

just an FYI different regions have very different snowfall totals, density, warming/freezing cycles, and enough other variables that there is an entire major at MSU and U of U dedicated to studying snow. ON3Ps generally have slightly more spooned out tips, aggressive rocker, heavier cores (bamboo), and wider waist width that works very well in wet, heavy PNW snow. So I disagree- I think that people who live in Portland would tend to design skis that ski well in the conditions they ski in...I doubt that ON3P would be designing skis the same if they lived on the Ice Coast.

I know I base my current quiver off of where I am. If I lived on the east coast, I would probably buy a pair of carvers or get something a little narrower and a little more cambered. Living in fluffy, dry Continental snowpack, I ski 100-108 underfoot for almost everything. PNW I would probably daily 108 Jeffs and have a pair of fatties for deep days. If OP made the same post but said he lived in Vermont, then I would not recommend ON3Ps.

that’s not what you said. You said the wildcat which is a 116 ski or 118 in 190. And the deathwish which is a 112 ski.

And why are you suddenly on moment skis nuts now? You were calling them overhyped and over priced too. But suddenly you love them.

Because he’s a troll.

True. And let’s put the on3p hate into context. He’s still butthurt iggyskier called him out for making burner accounts to try and legitimize his lies. Matching ip’s and all lol.

Because rocker skis on non-powder skis is a massive gimmick, my guy. It’s why nobody else is doing it because it sucks.

Moment is a home grown USA brand that makes quality traditional non-gimmick skis. And their graphics are sick.

moment has the meridian which is a full rocker free style my guy. Might want to do more research before you chirp more nonsense.

And you already claimed they are over priced skis my guy. Guess you forgot about that.

Wrong again on rocker. Rocker makes a huge difference, and everyone can notice it all the way from beginners to experts. Rocker essentially shortens your effective edge, making it easier to initiate turns and turn quickly. Also rocker makes skis easier to butter and less likely to catch an edge while landing. Ski through some steep, tight glades on a ski that has a lot of rocker. Then do the same on a ski with no rocker. Then do a nosebud 3 with skis that have rocker. Then do the same with a ski with no rocker. For people who dont really have carving in mind (i.e. all off ON3Ps market) and want a playful ski, the aggresive rocker is appealing.

Aside from the Billygoat, ON3Ps are not full rocker, reverse camber skis- there still is a decent effective edge and decent amount of camber. The shape is unique that appeals to a unique market of skiers.

Also if you want "traditional, non gimmick skis", Moments are the last thing you want lol. Have you seen the ghost train? Or the Frankenski? Haha. When you say traditional are you asking for this? Because remember that before 15 years ago, rocker wasnt really a thing- ski tech is changing.

I feel like none of the ON3P haters have ever skied a pair of ON3Ps. Lol. Il fix it for you.

"Moment and ON3P are home grown USA brands that makes quality skis designed to be used wherever you feel like skiing them" And their graphics are sick."
