New skis for a big guy??

First post lol. I'm currently riding some cheapy dynastar 178s, with like a 68 waist. I'm 6'3" and 210-220ish, so I'm kind of a big dude, and I dont think the 68 waist is cutin it. I will be mostly doing powder/back country for now, but I will shift to more park when I get better at doing jumpy/spiny shit. My budget is like $500-$650ish, but less is better lol.

Any input would be helpful,

Lates

You'll definately be able to find something nice for less than you're budget. You'll probably want something around 185cm long with a 90-100mm waist. Just out of my head, you could look at a 189 Seth or a 185 Scratch BC.

look into upper 180s and 95 and up waist. I'm no powder expert so thats all the advice i can give you.

wats your skiing background? if your grew up racing and really no how to put your wieght into a ski, i wuldnt go k2, seeing as thier usually pretty soft. try a older EHP mabye?

The BC has a 98?mm waist and a stiffer all mountain flex, while the FS has a 84mm waist and a soft park flex.

Sweet, thats what I wanted to know thanks. I knew BC meant back-country, and FS meant freestyle. Got another question though. You think the scratch BC skis will work well with my 05/06 salomon foil boots?

are you kidding ants there way to big mountain it all depends on this guys old skiing background wether or not he used to ski alot or just a little twice a year type thing

Haha "old" skiing background, I'm 18 lol. Actually I was a skier til about 10, then I was a boarder for 4 years, and then I started skiing again like 3 years ago. But it's only been about a year since I started getting like really hard-core in to skiing. Definitely not going to only do it once or twice a year though lol. More like once or twice a week.

Hope that helps ;)

ok thats kinda wierd i did sorta the same thing my parents raised me to ski. did that till i was nine then switched to snowboarding did that for awhile then all of the sudden some kids are at school looking online at some twintip skis and im like wow those are cool and now im a skier for life. i would give you advice but im 3 years yunger so that wpuld be a littlle akward so ya good luck, but i would check the armada ar6 thats what i have there good, really good

Well damnit, your no use to me lol j/k. I've been looking at the scratch BC's for awile now anyway, so I guess I have to get them (cheaper then the other stuff I've seen) I can always sell them later if I dont like them lol. thanks for helping.

just check out momentskis.com look at the ruby 188's i think the'd be perfect for you. there great all mt. ski that can go in the park and they have a 112 waist so you'll float just fine

oh almost forgot the line cronics and the line cronic blends and the line anthems and the rossignol scratch brigade theres so many but ya thats all that i can think of for now
