New Skis Feeling

My dreams have come true and the UPS driver came 2 days before the marked delivery date. I could hardly believe my eyes as I watched him unload the towering box and set it on my porch. I have spent the last few hours bonding with my sweet new rides. Is there any better feeling than a fresh pair of sticks? I am afraid to even hit rails on them to ruin their factory beauty.

It's like the new skateboard feeling, but even better because the graphics will last a lot longer on skis.

Is there ever too many pairs of skis? nahhhhhh

edit: show us the sticks baby!

984055.jpeg Armada ARV 96 Tis from a couple years ago, a ski shop out in Phoenix had them dead stocked for $325 . The ARVTI is my favorite ski of all time and Armada quit making them so I had to do it.

Until you take them to the shop and they fuck the mount up.

Based on recent NS threads I've decided I'm just not gonna get my skis mounted anymore. Gonna just drill my boots directly into my skis for lower stack height, fewer pre-releases, and better power transfer. Also 0/10 penetration factor.

I loved those skis when I had them! Hopefully they’ll bring em back.

I compare the new skis feeling to my old skis feeling. Whenever I have a pair that have been beat to shit and survived many repairs, I weirdly cherish them. Truly heartbreaking when a pair thats lasted a two or more seasons gets the final blow and you know its over

I would say new skis is one of the greatest feelings in the world, comparable to nutting, a perfect grilled cheese, taking a sick shit, a juan tap in csgo and pissing while drunk.

New skis arrive in a few days!!

geez what are the dimensions on those skis? they look so fat, hope you're skiing powder!

114 underfoot and 138 at it's widest point! No powder...just groomers at eldora. Wanted to get a feel for how they turn on harder snow before I tour with them!

I picked up a pair of Bentchetlers this off season and have 3 days on them so far, loving them.

Even better than new skis feeling is the feeling when you just vibe with new skis right away. Usually takes me a second to get used to new skis (and then I love them) but sometimes it just clicks instantly

When they aren’t charging $80 for a mount and then fucking it up, yeah lol

Employees are chill but some of the pricing is ridiculous because they’re the only shop in the valley. Quite literally had a tech make fun of me for buying off evo, said “come to us there’s a reason we are the ski PROS” then proceeded to mount my bent chets in a way where the heel piece was coming out of the ski within a month...

Fortunately, when you buy [tag=209275]@J_skis[/tag] you can ski on them for 5 days and if you don't love them, then you can send them back for a full refund. There Taylor, I saved you some work. Enjoy that 30 seconds, do something great with it.

The first scratch/topsheet chip is always the most painful

I remember the first day on my old 4FRNT VCTs back in 2007. It was a pow day at Copper and Ski Patrol came up to us and asked if we could take first tracks on Spaulding Bowl when they dropped the gate. I was part of the CU Freeride program so Ski Patrol figured we knew what we were doing. Anyway, after a few laps I got greedy and swung wide and hit a rock band and core shotted the hell out of my new skis. Luckily the shop was able to patch them up but now its a cool scar that I remember over a decade later.

Thanks Leo, I'll be clocking out 30 seconds early today

i had that happen, i took a brand new pair of 5 point pow skis on a big trip and HATED them. i switched to my older skinnier skis on a pow day, that's how much it fucked with me lol

I have. Usually I get used to them though and salvage the relationship. Stay on any skis long enough and you’ll get Stockholm syndrome lol

Yes I bought the dynastar menace and instantly knew they where to long and the tops to wide . I hated them and I have been waiting for the day I got these ever since. now I’m struggling to flip them .

Anyone tryna help me pick out a new pair of skis? I'm looking for something under $600ish (not including bindings) that would be almost entirely for park. I want something pretty soft and buttery but not nearly as soft as the blends but still hold decently on backseat landings. Also trying to stray away from line cause of durability reasons. If anyone's got suggestions I'd love to hear them thanks.

J skis Allplay or Vacation would be good, Vishnu, Moment Frankenski. Those aren't really in your budget tho.

Surface has some decently soft stuff (can't remember names off the top of my head), and they are pretty cheap.

dude new skis coming in during early season + still getting out to go ski your other skis + getting the new ones mounted in a day so you can ski them soon is so fuckin awesome too.
