title says it all. My k2 fugative snapped in half n i got like 06 scrathes as replacements brand new and there very akward.... like really different on rails. but anyway my fujatives were like 2 years old and there edges were like flat to the point it was hard to ski on them and turn lol. So i usually ski alot of rails and now when im hitting most rails my right inside edges stick and when hittin boxes i slice little shavings off the plastic part inside the copeing and it makes a weird noise. So i have tried to file down the edges with a file and in like a half hour got little results and my edges still catch. the big prob here is i have a railjam friday and i want to not catch my edges. So is there anything special you kids do to file down those edges with a file or do you use something else? Im also worried about damaging my brand new 200 dolla skis so is there and special ''safe" way not to hurt my babies?

Do you have a shop near you? I know theres a little stick thing thats flexible and has little diamond bits, but idk the name. Does anyone know. Otherwise go to a shop.

i have brand new skis too, i hit my first box in them and almost died, my skies were catching like a mofo. I brought them into the shop on the hill and they took a gumi stone to it underfoot and it was perfect when i went back out

use a gummy stone.. it'll be easier to dull the edges. with files youre not really able to "even" them (dont know if it is possible to say that in english^^) what i want to say is that with a file you will create kinds of roughnesses on your edges

when i get new skis i just ride them on icy areas for a day or 2, doing little ground spins and such, and i havent caught an edge on a box/rail in ages

a file leaves the edges with a rough feel, so that is no good.^ rounded edges definitely make ice a death trap, but no much of a difference in pow

if you try to detune your edges with a file you will shred them upbuy a gummy stone from a racing website or a shop or something and just run it along your edges, it will totally detune them so they shouldn't catch on rails

I just let mine detune on their own, I didn't have much of a problem with just doing that, but if you need it for the railjam , I suggest going to a shop, they'll probably do a decent job of it if you explain to them what you want.

i agree, bevel them, don't try to round off the edges, cause then you will very be able to carve or hold a edge on them. just bevel them so the edges are not square (90 degree angle) under bevel them so the edge is at like a 80 degree angle and then de burr them would be my advice.

opps meant i fail, sorry bout the double post. but i meant to say that if you bevel them at 80 degree angle they well still have some ability to carve and hold a edge, and they shouldn't catch on rails either.

^^word, beveling works best, that way you won't sacrifice the rest of the hill just for your rail skiing.
