new skis (Dilemma)

well I am looking at some Line Maverics or some MSPs (both 180). The Maverics are on getboards for $250 and they will probably be out of stock soon. I have to say that I am not too impressed with the maveric graphics (but that doesn;t really matter, besids, it's just mroe room for stickers) the only reason why there is a dilemma is becuase I do want to support 4Frnt! I like start-up companies + they seem really good. so if I got the Lines I have enough money to get them this year, if I get some 4Frnts, it will have to be either mid this season or next season. another option is if the 4Frnts go on sale but I don;t see that happening. I am kind of leaning twards just getting the Lines but if anyone can pursuade me or whatever....

I love line and own line skis, but i have to say, i hate the mavericks.

ill be super rich and own mt.hood and let everybody from ns ski for free... except freezed

these two skis aren't very similar, but i can personally tell you how durable and fun to ski the msp's are.

also I suppose I could get the Scratchs off getboards. I am afrais though becuase it says that the only difference between the scratches and the scretch fs is that the plain scratches are less durable

i dunno ,wood core will las tyou longer than teh isocore and foam in teh thc.. its just teh graffix.. i love scratches.. they are very underarated.

who ever said lines are durable are fukin dumb. i demoed a pair and the reason that they are light is becaus the bend like butter. The 4FRNT ski is light becuse it is DENSE maple un like the thin lines. And the 4FRNTs are still really light too

there is also Titanum Darksides on evogear for $250.. they are 185s are the darksides any good???

Line may be a rider owned company, Phrosty, but they are already established and I guarentee that it's employees generally make more money (especially the owner/ceo/whatever) they don;t have a chance of going bankrupt any time soon, however 4Frnt is still a young company and if it doesn;t get the support it needs in the next year or so, it might go under

4frnts last u froever and r a great ski and yes they will go all over the mountain.

i dont like the mavericks because:

i dont like the sidecut on the mavericks

i dont like the low(er) tail

i dont like the sub par durability

i dont like the graphics

this being said, i havent skied on them that much, and i do like my 1260s, but i would regard the mavericks as the last line skis i would buy.

i would reccomend the titanium darksides, super fast skis, good sidecut, nice skis. only they aren't really park skis if you want to do the park with your skis.

I like my Skogens, just as I am getting better of the jumps and shit they feel a little sloppy if you know what I mean (not that this isn;t me fault however I feel that I would be more confortable on somthing bigger/stiffer). I also want a better ski for more technical runs (backcountry, powder, mogules...)

ok that sounds good and all but it is 100$ more than what I am looking to spend (granted I can save up more but it will be longer befroe I get them) how would the Darkside titanum compare to the pollard?

^I heard good things about the darksides a few years back, everyone was saying they were a sick jib ski. That was 02 I think. I haven't heard much about the more recent models, everybody started hyping the Scratch FS, then the TM and PE.

he mavericks are probably the worst skiing ski i have ever been on. they feel dead under your feet, not responsive at all like line's other stuff. i wouldnt say its the sidecut because 4FRNT's have less sidecut and ski 10x better. and whoever paid $600 for your 4FRNT's, your gettin ripped off, i got mine for $390 brand new. and yes, they are worth every cent, their customer service is amazing, contrary to what anyone at fred's freeride may tell you

Go with K2 Public Enemy or Fujative. Both inexpensive, super durable and perform well everywhere on the mountain.

 
^^ MSPs are NOT the most durable ski on the market. fuckin kiddies arent thinkin about head.

mad trix, are BY FAR the most durable ski on the market. they will be my next pair. mad trix mojos that is. i just wish they made a 190+ pair of mojos.

if ur worried about price check out d-structure cuz its canadian prices(which in canadian theyre often less than the getboards prices without exchange difference). i dont know if u can order from them though but its worth a try.
