i've always hotwaxed my new skis, but some people tell me that you really dont need to cause they come out of the factory with wax. if there was wax on them out of the factory wouldnt it wear off pretty fast? let me know. i just got 03' pocket rockets, if the type of ski matters.

naw you don't have to wax, they put universal on it before they ship.. it'll last just like a regular tune up..

it doesn't matter if you wax them at all, but ya they do have a factory wax on em. it usually only lasts a day those. its el cheapo. its a good idea to either wax em firs tor after your first day on new shit.

sacrifice, to some its just a word, to others it is a code, what matters is the colony, he is willing to live for the colony, fight for the colony, die for the colony.

Holy Shit, What are you guys talking about. You'll totally Fuck em up if you don't wax them, most skis don't even have a base grind on them and are totally unlevel. Let alone have wax. They don't have wax on them. WAX THEM!!!

Wax them. There's still grit, oils, and other residue on the bases. The wax they put on is just to cover the base. Have it waxed, so the base is cleaned and rewaxed. The edges should be good out of the factory, so just leave those alone until the ski needs tuning again

Better yet, clean the wax out with a citrus solvent then hot wax them. That way you know whats on them.

Freshies for a week after a dump? Temple Basin - Hell Yeah!

Unless your buying race stock skis they should be perfectly flat on the bottom so I'd suspect your new pocketrockets will be fine. But I'd check them anyway with a straight edge. Then spray some base cleaner on them and scrape any of that left over factory wax off them. Then put some good wax on them and you'll be good to go.

citris stuff is bad, just put some wax on and take it off straight away, gets all they crap out real good, then give them a proper waxing.

ever wonder if iliterate people get the full effect of alphabet soup???

Yeah happywhenhard is right, wax remover isn't so good for the skis. Wax your skis as much as possible anyways, it NEVER hurts them. Do it like 3 times before you go out if your really ambitious.

any find that liquid wax is better or worse than the hot wax, and what about that zardoz shit

Team Sofa King Amazing

Being Irish, I guess I should resent the Notre Dame nickname 'The Fighting Irish.' After all, how long do you think nicknames like 'The Bargaining Jews' or 'The Murdering Italians' would last? Only the Ironic Irish could be so naively honset. I get the feeling that Notre Dame came real close to naming itself 'The Fuckin Drunken, Thick-Skulled, Brawling, Short-Dicked Irish'

yah zardoz is good but it doesn't replace a hot wax. try purl. it's the shit.

nothing comes close to a hot wax, its so good for you skis, should be done every 5 skiing days if you wanna keep you skis in awesome nick.
