Alright, so here's the deal. My friend (who is not on newschoolers) finally got fed up with searching endlessly through forums and calling ski shops to get a legitimate review on a ski he was looking into. As a result, he decided to create a website that strictly reviews powder skis and park skis. I told him I'd help spread the word on this site and it's definitely legit because it's a NON PROFIT site. He wants to create a database so the next time you want a legit review on a ski, you wont have to look far and you'll get quality information. He's not making any money and it doesn't cost anything to join/read reviews. He would really appreciate it if you guys would check it out and maybe add a quality review to help the cause. It takes 5-10 minutes at most to write a good review, and you'll help others out by doing it. It may start off slow, but he's hoping it blows up, which wont happen without help from others with experience.

The website is http://powderandpark.com

Thanks for all your help, and I'm sure he'll appreciate it.

Yeah, anyone will be able to submit a review, I guess he's going to be proofreading them first to make sure it's the best quality review possible.

That's crazy awesome. I was just telling my friends the other day that there should be a site like Gamespot that reviews skis.

A tip though. When doing the reviews, give point scores in predetermined categories and give an average. It makes your review sound much more legit. A good rating system and organization of reviews make all the difference.

Thanks for the input, the site just went up today so I'm sure it's still in the development stage and he's definitely open to suggestions

Hey guys figured I should get a name on Newschoolers if my site is gonna be up on here. The general idea is just to get a solid database of ski reviews for powder and park skis. It seems to me that its always hard to find a good review for a powder ski or a park ski, but really easy to find one for a race ski or something like that. So the site will hopefully make it easier to find reviews for the kind of skis we use. I just added a feature so that you can register and submit a review http://powderandpark.com/home/?page_id=15 Thanks to everyone who thinks its a good idea. I hope it will become a great resource for everyone.

Just to add one more thing, there is a contest for the first 40 unique reviews submitted, check out the site for details. Hope this isn't spam, just trying to create a good site for everyone to use before they buy their next pair.

^ You sort it by going Powder then Manufacturer / Park then Manufacturer

I think it'd be easier if you just sorted it by manufacturer. Cause some skis are borderline. But whatevr, I'm just picking at nothing

How long do you want the reviews to be? i've got a couple i've written not long ago, which i could add but they're pretty brieff and sum-up type

good point about the skis that can go both ways, they can be added to both the park and powder category really easily so it shouldn't end up being a problem. As far as length for the reviews it does not really matter so long as you can get a good idea of what the ski is like from reading the review. I tried to make a little outline on the contribute a review page.

Just wanted to thank everyone for their support, got a review of the k2 Hell Bent up on the site. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks.

Main reason is that not everyone that skis is on newschoolers haha. There are tons of good reviews on sites like this and teton gravity but it is hard to find them sometimes. So i figured i would make a place for all powder and park ski reviews, just to make it that much easier.
