New Ski Idea...

Ok, I got this buddy who is crazy good at drawing and art. He did all the Menu's and covers for Cheese Cake... anyway he is really good. I was thinking he could draw on skis, the same idea as Armada, but completley different art, no where near as modern and abstract... more just, dope drawings that you love to look at with great detail... we could keep the same ideas, like keep the stealth, but have him draw the plane... etc let me know what you think...

deffenilty go for it! I REALLY like the art idea on skis and i think thats where graphics will be heading really soon and armada is just one step infront of the game.
 
we are moving away from Stealth. Any ideas you have for skis, get them rendered and email an image to Dan. We are always open to different inspiration. I think original artwork on skis is a good step, I think original art mixed with digital art is even better.
 
So, i know this thread has sorta been dead for awhile, but the other day i had an idea. it sounds sorta cheesy, and silly for a ski graphic, but i'll say it anyway. We all love the game Twister right? Well, make a ski that is white, and looks like the Twister mat thing. Like, some BIG colored circles on it. Then have "Liberty" in that Twister style font. Then, Tell kids to get sharpies and write "Right hand Red" and "Left Hand Yellow" to make grabs. get it? on your ski it has your prominent grabs written in with a Sharpie, on a Twister Board. Oh, and under foot where the little Chopper is right now on the choppers, have the Twister Spinner thing.
 
It can be the entire "A-Game" series. One of the models could be a Scrabble Board, and have skiing related words on it, like "Gnar, Shred, Get Some, Snow, East, West... etc). And Chutes and Ladders or something for the little ones.

Chutes and Ladders = little kids = 160

Twister = not so little kids = 170

Scrabble = grown ups = 180.
 
another idea can be like countrys and there main tourist attracting... like London and the Big Ben clock tower can have a theme, and then like venice or Leaning tower of Pisa... you get the idea

I had this idea for a new ski...tell me what you think. I think it would be neat if we focused on a theme that would be really relevant to the word 'Liberty'. Like we could have sets of skis that focus on different movements where 'Liberty' was a major issue, like the civil rights movement or the current issues going on in Darfur. I tried drawing skis for the first time ever using photoshop and it didn't work out as well as i wanted to, but its a rough sketch. On the tail I have an excerpt from Martin Luther Kings 'I have a Dream speech' where in the text I highlighted an L,I,B,E,R,T, and Y. They spell our logo in sequential order. The logo's also in the front. Like I said, its just a rough draft. I've never used photoshop to make skis, but i think it would be a cool idea
 
thats actually two different skis, but thats what it looks like when you put them together. Heres what they look like split apart a bit.

Shit's too political. And If I didn't know any better I would say those are HOPE skis..... not Liberty. I like the new Larose Graphics. Simple things that aren't an actual picture... just designs are dank.
 
I like that a lot, it just looks a little unfinished. What does the writing say?

Also, things to keep in mind for all of you is be aware of where bindings would be mounted, and how the curve of the tips are. Remember that images that start high on the ski end up printed up the tip. You can get creative with the curves but be aware of the crop and bleed. You need to allow a little space on the sides that will be cut off when they get pressed on a ski.

Keep thinking! Think about colors, themes/names (stealth is all techy) (C-note is fat and bling), styles (graffiti, pen and ink, futuristic, abstract). All ideas are good ideas because they lead people to other ideas.

 
i think the writing is supposed to be a graphic like between the toe and heel pieces, like on last years chopper how we had a helicopter. That was cool, But anyway since you guys are all NAZIS I'll bag the politcal idea and just try to make some artzy graphics.
 
we dont want to get all political because Liberty has no political stand. We just like to ski. Think of things that are more along the freedom to ski metaphor of "Liberty" as opposed to anything political.

Images of mountains, artsy steeze, badass characters, stuff like that.

 
I vote that we get Trevor Woods to do a sick design. I think he told me he made some graphics for Liberty before, but they were never used. He recently painted on his skis, and they're by far the sickest graphics I've seen this season. They're sooooo detailed and creative. I think he could come up with something really cool for Liberty.

Trevor is the sickest ski designer ive ever met.

i dont quite know why Liberty shot down his graphics for the KGB and the C-Note. His graphics make the current graphics look like hell.

i definatly think Trevor is the man for the job
