New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

Its not possible to get enough speed to clear both. You cant see the bombhole because its theres a shadow there.

As a test for everyone who can clear it, spin upside down or sideways right when it looks like you clear it, and if you survive, you're clearing it. If not, then you will fall, and you'll know you're not quite clearing it.
 
No it is possible to clear both. You will know if you cleared both if you always hold grab for your entire spin. If you crash, then you did not clear both and if you had not been grabbing you might have "touched down," but if you spin and grab the whole way you cleared both.
 
whenever i do get passed that point of not touching down, i end up landing on the rock of the second cliff. I really think it's impossible. Can someone take a video of it? lke Live screen video?
 
I still don't think its actually possible, I think you always touch down, otherwise you will just land on the 2nd cliff. I may be wrong (Quaz would obviously know better than I). But, I cannot get enough speed to clear both without touching down, I've tried holding a grab throughout the whole spin and everytime I just crash.
 
no because on the second jump when you said I touched I was sideways. if I touched i would have fell. try it for yourself just do some trial and error in that same spot
 
due what the hell are you talking about you defs touch you land waay before the actual lip of the second cliff.
and what are you playing on it looks like a mac from the 90's! :D
 
Hate to kill the buzz, but I got some actual work to do now, so I won't be able to work on the game during the day for a few days. Hopefully I'll get some stuff done on the weekend.

It has already been posted on TGR twice.They aren't digging it as much as NS is.

The whole thing is a bit of a mess right now, but it works. I'm starting to think cliffs should only be draggable from the zoomed out view. Weird things happen when you are skiing and start dragging a cliff.
 
i know your working super hard... so its really hard for me to try to "give you pointers"... mostly because im sure the things im thinking you already know, but i feel like the cliffs should have some sort of "depth"... im not sure if i can explain my self... but if you stack 3 cliffs on top of eachother, i feel like you should get more airtime as you pass over to the next cliff... sort of like in real life... maybe just making the skier go faster could also help... but i just want a little more air time... or at least added airtime as you clear the lips of the cliffs
 
well i had everysingle cliff stacked and i made it down probably 3/4th if not more. i think i was hitting inbetween, but still fairly epic.
 
Yeah I know what you mean! That would be super sick if the cliffs worked like that. Although it seems like that would take some serious programming time. I'm super stoked on everything Quaz has put together so far. Draggable cliffs are dope.
 
I can make cliffs floatier.

The physics behind this is all really fake and doesn't have much to do with real life, it just sort of works for the game. Right now I have it set up so you fall at a certain speed if you are in the air over snow, and you fall at a slower speed if you are in the air over rocks to make you feel like you are higher up. This makes sure you wipe out on the rocks if you hit a cliff too slowly, or you can't clear an infinitely tall cliff. Sort of like the rock face is just really steep, instead of totally vertical. Pretty easy to change, but then I'd want to make the cliffs smaller so you aren't in the air most of the level. I'll give it a try and see how it feels.

How is the game running for everyone? I'm finding this doesn't run as smoothly as the older version which I really want to fix.
 
I thought there already was depth in the cliffs? I have been able to clear two, and the shadow falls away from you on the second cliff like it did on the first
 
i know wat would be sick is to be able to delete all the clifs then pick which one u wanted in a side bar or u can make just a fat run in and a big clif at the end
