New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

I've seen the uphill bounce happen when hitting a pillow line and spinning too.

I can't open up the spin/crash stats to everyone for now. Nobody will be able to tell what stats are their own anyway.

A spin/flip/loop meter is doable, though I don't think I can make something that will accurately judge whether something is rodeo or a flat spin or misty or a dspin or whatever, there is too much math and subjective stuff in there.

People claiming in this thread are funny.

i think we should say how to do different flips and axis's like flatspin is quaater turn flip quater turn back and cork is quater lincon loop spin quater lincoln loop back. i want to know how to do mistys, rodeos, underflips etc

any way to make it full screen would be sick

because when i press up or down to flip too soon the page scrolls up and down.

New version is up with a slightly larger level and some new controls for people who's game kept scrolling when they wanted to flip.

I'm working on getting crashes happening when you frontflip/backflip on to your head, and I'm also hoping to fix the going uphill after landing thing tonight too.

I think it was best before the last update
and also the new controls not workin for me arrows still turn, loop is still a and s

The going uphill on landing thing should be fixed now, so pillow lines with spins will work better. The problem was If you landed a jump on another jump, it wouldn't do the math that figures out whether you are going forwards or backwards, so sometimes you would end up going forwards up the hill even you should be going down switch.

And no more getting away with landing frontflips/backflips on your head, you need to be within 90 degrees of the slope.

i like the bigger level and the going uphill thing seems to be fixed. no lag for me at all. but the frontflip/backflip thing isn't fixed. i can land perfectly on my head and still land...

Can you be more specific about what was better in the last version? If the new controls aren't working, you may have to clear your cache.

I think I liked it more because it was a little closer to the action
The new one doesn't feel as "real" more like controlling a stick figure on two sticks from really far away.

I guess it can be kinda compared to a big mountain helmet cam in AK to a big mountain heli shot in the same location.

Dude, add sluff and breakaway slabs! Just have it cake off from the track and go down, and if you intersect any you slow down or something. I'd love to have that shit blow over cliffs as I switch 3 next to it.

mmmmhmmmmm. Two things I can think of (if we're talking about the same versions)

The previous version was wider and took up more of the screen which may have helped with immersive feeling a bit. The smaller size makes the game run smoothly on slower computers though.

The previous had a narrow level. This one is wider, so the whole level shifts side to side on the screen so you can ski it alll. You don't see camera movement like that in movies too often since skiers usually choose a narrow line instead of moving across the face of a mountain.

Some of the cliffs are spaced out a bit further now too, but I don't think that is it.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

I can't loop anymore, I tried both the AWSD and the < and >

I also preferred when the window was bigger, like the other guy said.

actually, i think i preferd it when you culdnt crash doing a front flip or back. i reckon it was beta b4 without that feature

i cant do loops anymore, the < and > doesn't work.. how about making like Z and X the looping buttons, and keep both wasd and the arrows to spin and flip?

I have a problem, when i go to either side to try get to the newer area of the mountain the screen doesnt scroll across and i cant see the skier, why?

You can do corks by spinning and pressing < and then in mid rotation press > or vice versa.
Flatspins by spinning and pressing w and then press s in mid rotation or vice versa.
Misties and rodeos by spinning ahd holding < or >.

You can also do kangeroo flips by pressing w and < and holding it. or s >, or other variations.

Comments:
You should add grabs, as well as make like marks where the skier lands like in the first teton game. Besides that great game.

I like the idea of expanding the mountain. Any way we can get some bigger cliffs? I can't do lincolns anymore though. Did the loop buttons change?
