New ski edges

Yeah so i've brainstormed something sweet.Imagine all the people,

( not the son )

who would like to be able to carve on snow or grip on ice as you may want slide rails like it was nothing.

Creating a ski edge able to race those Local ski racers on the way to the park and beat out all the rails without damaging them.

Wouldn't be insane.

Let me know if my potential invention would be appreciated!

Nick

it's not damaging my edges i care about, it's catching them on the rail. dumb idea is dumb...?

Why do you ask a such question? Im just trying to innovate.

Seems like people don't like to change for best.

100% carbon, Titanium or polymer filament ski edge?

ok then,

i let it go.

That is not the solution i am trying to share. How can you enjoy it if you can't do both in the same run?

the problem is, a race course and a park lap on rails in the same run is basically impossible, because the sharper your edges are, the more they'll catch on rails. it's an ultimatum, you can't have both. inversely proportional yadda yadda you get the point. the better your race course is, the worse your park run will be and vice versa.

carbon will wear down the fastest because it is a relatively soft metal, and all the others will dull eventually, using harder metals wont change how long you can keep your edges sharp

If a man can walk on the moon, We can make skis a little bit more versatile.

Let me gain more information and i'll come up with a better sample.

THANK YOU.

While you're at it, can you also make my car get 200mpg and make the tyres last 400k miles and not require chains, ever? Just throw some titanium carbon polymer at them, it'll work I'm sure.

See there are these HUGE corporations throwing borderline insane quantities of cash at all of these problems. What makes you think that as someone who can't even construct a sentence very well you're going to improve on what we've got?

Individuals are good at inventing new things, but refining something that's already been around for ages and been through many stages of development takes thousands of hours and millions of dollars.

let's take your indestructible edges made from Unobtainium and make some stronger poles or boot buckles.

I like soft poles. If I have a massive fail I like the gear I land on top of to break before I do, haha.

It's a novel idea, but it doesn't really make sense. As previously stated, sharp edges & good slides are two mutually exclusive ideas.

But, the idea is neat.

Hey op you have to realize that when someone doesn't agree with you it doesn't mean that they hate you... just get that through your head right now. People are "hating on you" because you idea is retarded and you sound like a 10 year old saying "hey what if we had both skis i think i can do it" but you have no evidence of this working or anything. You just babel on about how your going to prove us wrong and shit. Well op you are a dumb ass, who types as if he was an Asian.... (reread your posts dude in an Asian voice)

haha yeah that's true... and thinking of it, i fell on mine last week. I think i would've broken my back if they were really solid.

OP if I understand what your asking I think there is already a solution. It has to do with the level of degree your edge is at. If the degree is very subtle and high in a way you can still have relatively sharp edges without catching. I personally do not know which degree it is but my ski shop told me about it a while ago. One thing I know is that it is not a three degree...

we can walk on the moon, but we can't rearrange the physics involved with friction and the properties of metal.

looks like you're still going to have to buy two pairs of skis

I've never had any issues with edges on any of my skis, I never detune or sharpen them or anything and they ride just fine. A lot of my friends bitch about theirs but its usually cause they need an excuse to pussy out of something.

If you make the edges harder they will just dig into steel rails. Just like steel edges dig into aluminum rails.

my skis have no edges... they all fell off. but that doesnt stop me from skiing fast as fuck and doing switch 10's

Oh me too bro me too, I actually haveNO EDGES and can do super floppy triple spinny thingies and ski faster than the universe! Quit claiming, you sound foolish and juvenile, young whippersnapper.

How about ski edges made for park riding, i've saw bronze edges for snowboard. It seemed like good stuff.
