New site feature idea - shorts

I see a lot of single iPhone clips of people boosting wind lips, hucking insane cliffs, techie rails combos, or learning their first 3. I love street segments, season edits, and longer films, but sometimes I like micro analyzing a trick I’m learning to see how its being thrown or get ideas for new tricks.

I feel like a shorts section would gain a lot of traction. Most nsers don’t have a full film crew, but everyone’s got a cell phone. Kinda like ig reels but on this site and no algorithm, just ski clips.

Thoughts?
 
That’s basically just TikTok and I’d be scared that cringe ski tiktokers would find out and start posting

The idea would certainly necessitate the down vote feature.

Idk I think it would be pretty sweet to separate the clips and the film projects. Especially if the “shorts” had a trick tagging system like that Slapp app SLVSH tried to get going so you could search up a specific trick easily
 
Personally I'm against this cuz I feel like there's already so much ski content being uploaded to NS every day, and a bunch of short videos wouldn't help the oversaturation issue. NS shouldn't be made more similar to Instragram. Both platforms have their own strengths and weaknesses

Nothing is stopping you from posting up a 5 second video on here. But it would be 100 times cooler if you stacked clips and put out an edit that's actually enjoyable to watch.

Idk for me a single clip grabs my attention for a second but unless it's really impressive I'll forget about it. A longer cut will keep me engaged and actually appreciate the skiers behind it.

Tons of clips less than one minute!

All you need to do is post it up.

Your "Not Steeze" clip is a good example of just that.

A subsection under videos called shorts is my proposal. Bruh it’s lame of me to post a clip like this in a video dominated site. I pop off the site spring to summer but when I come back it’s nice to see a video archive of my progress so idk

Not lame to post up short clips. Lots of folks like them. I know I do. Quick one trick deals. It's all good.

No need to create a section. Keep posting shorts!
 
I'm in as long as it doesn't limit you to only vertical video like all the shitty social media apps cuz Fuck vertical video, all my homies hate vertical video

I feel the same. Because I view on a PC or TV, I want full screen!

That said, a slice of sweet, is better than no sweet at all.
