New searchbar is quite the fail

Suggestion: Old searchbar search format, but dont limit the threads to 50 results. Old searchbar was great, just too limited.
 
PLEASE GET RID OF THIS, I HONESTLY CAN'T SEARCH FOR ANYTHING

even if you fully remember the thread title it still shows every thread and it's mom from august 2010. finding anything over 3 months old is impossible
 
The only problem with the old searchbar though is that if you didn't know the exact title you would have a really hard time finding it.

So my suggestion is old searchbar results first followed by related titles.
 
All the members appear blue when you search, so its hard to know which account is the real one for a company, etc. or who is a pinkname. grrr
 
how can i find a thread about favorite tv series if the stupid searchbar searches for all hits with TV or series, not both .....
-just my opinion once again....it's crap ...
 
So I just had my first fail with the searchbar. I wanted to go back and compile a list of winners from the photo contest, which I've done before with topics. It was great, I typed in 'photo contest' and every week appeared, one after the other. Now when I search, I have pages and pages of anything to do with photos and contests. All the "sway the vote +++k!!" threads. I would have to go back at least 20 pages to find Week 2.

I think this can be solved by having a specific and a broad search option. Is it possible to have "search for specific phrase" and a "search for anything with these words" option?
 
skollsteee made a thread with a good solutiom for this. he suggested implementing a parentheses system where any ohrase with paretheses would yiels all thread with that exact titrle whgile without it it would searcbh for threads with any of the key workds mathcing
 
i thnk everyone in here agrees it sucks and everyone seems to have a perfect solution but so far it doesnt look like ns will do anything about it
 
NS is always evolving and always changing, and it's always done for no one other than the members. Don't have a bad attitude because a new searchbar was implemented 3 weeks ago and it hasn't been tweaked yet. You guys have to understand that NS is one in a million with the way it was created and built (and is still being built). So have patience and respect when it comes to bettering the site. These guys can only do so much.

And mmallander (I'm sure I'm close enough haha) I'm sorry for repeating something that has already been said. You don't gotta get mad over it though.
 
they implemented this new searchbar so that no one could find old threads and they would die.... just sayinn
 
I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS ANYMORE

i have not made ONE single successful search since the new searchbar...this is terrible. it's probably quicker to just browse through all the pages of the forums and try to find the thread

i can respect this. but maybe a little update on if/when they will be fixing/tweaking the new searchbar? that would be nice
 
they arent going too. ns doesnt like admitting when they are wrong. they are all about change which is good but for the most part people just bitch about it and demand things stay the same. examples: new site interface, new logo, new searchbar
 
i prefer some of the old elements over some of the new ones. you guys change things that people on the site NEVER mentioned or cared about, if its not broken don't fix it...
and since im complaining... i hate the blinking icon in park updates

but having said that, some of the new stuff is cool, and a vast improvement. the new new new searchbar has potential, but i have no idea how to use it. a tutorial would be nice
