new scratch bc topsheet material

hey i just got my 05 bc's.....and the topsheet feels totally different from last year.....last year it was a smooth plasic feeling..... and this year its like a semi-microgrit sandpaper...whats up with this new stuff? is it supossed to be any better?

also, a ''mini cap'' was added to to ski to prevent chipping that the old bcs and fs's were prone to.

i myself also just picked up this ski. i hope the new top sheet is as affective as everyone says because my old scratchs just got torn up on the tops.
