total x games coverage alone and me not having to listen to douglas pander to retards will be nice. qualifiers! not having to listen to tanner vs simon debate in teh pipe. maybe hype of other riders's runs.

don't know why i'm fixing on x coverage (maybe because i hate it), but on that note what if we had a "NS-viewers choice" award for best run. it wouldn't really affect anything, but maybe freeskier could write a story on the winner and the athlete could get props for doing something really cool (i'm thinking of andreas' pipe run couple years ago that was many sw hits)

i remember watching it when they were trying to see if it worked and i belive i got to watch bishop eating pasta and asking us wheather they should wait for their friend or just go ski without him.

Apparently the system allows for viewers to post comments that are seen by the announcer... so you can even talk shit on whats happeneing while it goes down!

i think this is a great idea now knowing that you guys are looking to get kids exposure, which is mad cool, and more income on your part which gets me stoked as well. i dont totally understand everything that is going on with it. were just gonna have to wait and see, its defiantly something to look forward to for all of us NS locals.
 
they better make some money or the same team won't manage it for very long. remember freeze magaznie?
 
^ unfortunately so, freeskier sucks. I miss Freeze. And one another note, i think the interactive aspect to the NSTV is a fucking sick idea and can't wait to check that shit out next winter.
 
i'm excited to try and get a few pics published, it wont be that different though, getting pics posted on the soon to be, well 'old' NS was/will be just as rewarding. I think this is a huge step in the right direction as long as it stays going, which i'm sure it will. The NS clothing line better grow too....its about time.
 
I wouldn't say Sell out i would say that studio 411 is like sponsering NS to make it better. Besides Unless any of you guys are Buisness majors i would have to say that NS is doing the right thing in order to make the company Grow.

Can't wait for the US Open and stuff... but would you guys be able to cover and X-Games shit? I really doubt it because of the rights the ESPN has to the event... right?
 
the word "sellout" has sold out. Its gonna make NS better for all of us. Its just giving the same crew some more money to do what they do best even better: give us updates on the freeskiing world.
 
selling out would imply just selling to the highest bidder with no consideration taken for long term plans, benefits, newschoolers.com itself, or even appropriateness of the new owners.

Even I'll agree that NS hasn't "sold out".

Let's hope this all works out for the best.
 
ur just selling off what has become the biggest page for skiing, I'm sure those guy will be glad to fill the page up with their advertises and products, congratulations ...
 
NS will always be core because there are real people on this site and we have a huge input as to what gets on the site, what the site does, how the site works. 411 is giving us more money to do that so i don't see how that can be a bad thing. if you think the heart and soul of NS is going to be sucked out you're wrong because the only way for that to happen is for every member to leave the site.
 
So Doug, with all these resources I believe that NS should have an event in the Midwest... such as Wisconsin. The midwest really deserves some real exposure and with all these new improvements and resources it could totally happen. Even if you just had really good legit coverage of an already existing event in the midwest that would be so awesome for the MW skiing scene. I guess we'll see what happens but I'm super excited about the changes
 
this new deal will defiently help out ns and make it a lot better but i just dont see it making it as big of change in the site as most of you guys think... sure the coverage will be better and nstv will be sick but idk it seems like you guys are treating this as some sort of revolution of the site but in my mind it will be just some good improvements.
