New Schoolers is awesome

I'm a waiter at Steak N Shake in Cincinnati, Ohio and tonight I waited on a NS member. I didn't know this initially and only found out after I saw that his phone had a giant "NS" sticker on it. This realization lead to me asking if he was on New Schoolers (he obviously was) and thus a nice conversation about Perfect North, the New Zealand Open and Chris Laker and Nick Goepper competing in it, and how we've both probably skied together before at Perfect North.
I think his table of three bought "maybe" fourteen dollars of food and left me a nine dollar tip. Whoever you are, NS guy who was really cool (I forget what you said your username is), I want to sincerely thank you and say that you completely made my night.

I met an NS'er at a rave in Phoenix. I asked him if he knew how to get to Chad's from the bottom of Alta... he actually started to tell me how to get up there. Dude, if you read this, the correct answer is "SKI PATROL BLEW IT UP!" Srsly.
But yeah, it's cool to randomly meet another NS'er.

I met nickyp today, he called me out as I was moving out of my dorm. Pretty epic

I love just randomly seeing NS members in places. I practically shit my self when I saw the "NS" on his phone. When he left I tried to explain to my co-workers what I meant by "New Schoolers", and "freestyle skiing" and how cool it was that I met someone from NS--sadly they didn't get it and couldn't comprehend "doing snowboarding tricks on skis"...

ON SECOND THOUGHT, it's worth a shot, I remembered one.

VANCOUVER. RICHMOND MORE SPECIFICALLY.

You were coming/going to the gym or a sport. Blonde hair, WESC t-shirt, shorts and white Lacoste style shoes. Dakine Heli-Pro.

NS'er? COULD IT BE?

pretty sure i was in front of at least 1 on rt 3 in MA last week, driving towards boston.

i mean, who the hell else would be driving a blue subaru with a ski rack on it early august?

and WESC, you never know.

But who in their right mind would ever buy a heli-pro if they don't intend on bringing it skiing?

whats up dawg that was me in the red phillies hat and blue droid hahah,.

yes everyone i shit my pants when this dude new what ns was so i gave him a 10/10 in real life

hahah if you have a chance to put ns shit on stuff go for it you never know when your in the same room as a fellow nser!

I have had one possible encounter with an NSer. I work at a farmstand in VT and one day a kid came wearing Saga boardshorts. Plus I have my waterbottle with an NS, Twin Tip Nation, Unithreads, Ishred, Amplid, Joystick, and Backcountry.com stickers on it so he probly noticed it.

When you meet a fellow NSer by accident, it's like hooking up with a long lost brother, we're one big family ! :)

i met on at access 24 (or 27) of algonquin park (ontario) this summer...
i noticed the NS sticker of his in his canoe.. then saw someone wearing a toque... in the summer... found ya.

i was camping, middle of nowhere. hour drive on a dirtroad away from a paved raod and yeh, i was camping beside the kid who won pg 13 in march. it was sick.

almost every time I ask a kid on the hill if hes on newschoolers I either get a "whats that" or "yeah I know what that is but Im not like, a member." its pretty frustrating

it's like we're all second cousins.....

man this joke is old, but works so well

nickyp? he's the british kid right? what was he doing in your dorm?
I called out a kid with a ns sticker on his helmet, asked him about chad's gap..... had no idea what i was on about!

i think i met an nser at the most red neck pace in the world, he commented on my jiberish at my local track, bad idea to wear it there

yup, he saw my car out front and I was putting my longboard in it, dropped the ns callout and we've never looked back since

no homo

while i was working at momentum a bunch of kids called me out like my age i guess, some older, it was pretty dope

Haha I knew you'd see this. I'm seriously about to put a NS sticker on my phone right now because of this.

Exactly, I get so excited when someone knows what I mean when I say that I'm a skier (i.e. I don't ski like some old man cruising down groomers) esp in the midwest.

Anyone else feel like a giant gathering of newschoolers at a central location, and on an annual basis would be epic?
It could be like burning man for skiers, just imagine it...

There've been threads about this, and I really really wish it would happen. I mean, we have IF3, but we need something bigger during the season too. Like a takeover of some mountain--one day where every NS'er goes to the same resort and laps the park/slays the pow all day.

what you talkin about? I knew exactly what you were talking about when you asked me on that icy god forsaken road.
