So i woke up sad because my seasons over and i went to the skate shop and picked a new board up and the way back i was kicking a rock and walking home and i was just thinking why there isn’t a skate equivalent of ns

Yeah a lot of people here skate in the off season, it’s my 2nd main “sport” next to skiing. I usually post up in the twin cities all summer to skate/work, street spots and palace park is the best way to pass the time until snow falls.
If you wanna dip into the culture some more start peeping shit like quartersnacks and 9 club. Also remember forums are cool to help guide you through a new sport but having a group of friends already into it will help you a million times more.
Go to the park and meet some people before you start posting to slap.

problem is forums aren’t pretty dated so there isn’t a huge young crowd that uses them. Making a new forum for skating would be fine but odds are it would still be mostly old heads.
plus if you wanna jus talk about illegal civ/FA you can just do that here- those are the only teams NS mf’s even pay attention to anyways.

RIP Silverfish :-( that was a forum for longboarding. Grassroots events and races (outlaws) were organized thru it, met so many friends through that even the one who i was just skiing vail with today, later moved to SoCal and met people to ride those world class canyon roads with including pros, it was incredible. Rode with this duper old timer John Rogers who used to be an x games luge medalist… gave fuckin mischo erban a ride up the mtn in my car he was the fastest longboarder at the time (still). Damn, good times and im officially old

Silverfish was great. They had a good board building section where I basically learned everything I needed. And if you wanted to learn anything about DH and all that you basically had to go there since it was pretty unlikely you'd come across other actual DH riders back in the day.
