i think they already do i was watchin a wakeboard comp that had slalom and stuff but it also had these guys on fat slalom skis. they werent gettin air, they were just spinning on the water and stuff

 
it would be sweet if someone invented skis that you could grind and land switch with......basically do everything someone on a wakeboard can do....actually get air and throw rodeos and shit

the problem is that water sking is really clumsy and in my opinion inferior to wakeboarding completly. first there would have to be new technolagy.

Yeah there is 'freeskyle waterskiing' but it's pretty fruity. It would probably be possible to do jumps on the wake on two skis.

i downloaded this thing on kazaa of some guy on waterskis, and he hits a ramp and goes off and does a huge 7... its rediculous... he sticks it too...

they have freestyle waterskis, they just look like really fat snowlerblades, with reverse sidecut and camber.

I used to jump the wake when I waterskied, not much else you can do though, the rope kind of gets in the way when it comes to spinning though.

The important thing is to make sure that you have a good pair of waterski poles, that is key!

has anyone else seen the 'water snowskate' like a wake board without bindings. it looks cool, but it would probably be really hard to learn

 
if you have ever seen a good jump act on a show ski team, you know that these dudes can throw down. one ski mobius', misty's, rodeos, backs and fronts and threes and sevens. they just cant go switch. but... people are doing things like switch around the boat and all sorts of cool shit, so it will be coming soon.

next year, me and my friends are gonna try to cut a wakeboard in half and seal up the edge, then mount the bindings like skis. I think it would work. its really light, wide enough for good stability, and since its a wakeboard its made to go both ways

Freestyle Waterskiing would be the summer equivalant to snowlerblading...You really cant put style into water skiing. It just isnt cool. Not much else too it.

Buy a damn wake board and move on with your life...

 
To see how gay 'Freestyle Waterskiing' would be, watch a wakeboard movie called The Faction. Its got a couple clips of some wakeboarder on a cable with waterskis...quite gay...sort of like snowlerblades...

can you guys help me think of any way to make a skiing equivalent to surfing? Like I think skiing down huge waves would be really cool Im just having problems coming up with the concept of standing up on them once you got out there theres gotta be a way.

You can make freestyle water skis first you nee thinner skis in widths and thickness wrapped construction like wakeboard twintip desighn mount in center and have a rocker on the skis and also use a wakeboarding rope with no give.

Prob should be done on 2 skis.

in the snowboard movie called BOOMBOX someone does a wake-to-wake backflip on waterskis. and i've seen people do lincolns and shit on big kickers.

wakeskateing is only a lil bit harder than boarding. people think its really tough but its not. i know i thought it would be extrememly hard till i got a wakeskate.

 
That wakeboarder on the cable with the waterskis is shaun murray, hes pretty much the best wakeboarder out there. Then there is also wakeskating, its hard but fun. And finally, yes- you can tow a surfboard behind a boat. You can do that or just boat surf where you surf the wake without a rope

thank you mt_hed, it was indeed shaun murray...dont really know how i forgot who it was but whatever. He is sick.

And if you want to see a sick wake skater, try to find clips of Brian Grubbs. I think he is some Nautica commercail, or some jean company commercial now wake skating. Maybe you can see him there, but I still havent seen the commercial.

I have Shaun Murray's marker. He's my buddy, honestly. Same with emily copeland, only I don't have her marker. She's going to sign my board though, next time she's in town for nike stuff. yup.
