If you go to www.freezeonline.com there is an article in the profiles section on Shance Szocs. It talks about how he and JP, JF, Vinnie and Mike D started everything and went to Salomon and K2 with the first twin tip design. Not that long of an article but it should help

What is this New School Revolution?

Skiing isn't what it used to be anymore, with a helping from our snowboarding counterparts we have seen the light. Either that or it was the sun behind the snowboarders as they flew over us. We have to take to the air and we are.
It wasn't to long ago when skiers could get their passes clipped for going into the terrain park or half pipe. Now we are in them, learning the basics of getting air, and throwing some style into our tricks. We are gaining the respect of snowboarders all over the world. The world is also taking notice to our revolution. We now have primetime coverage on TV during events like the X-Games, Gravity Games, and Jonny Moseley Invitational and a video game due out this winter.
I digress back to how it all started. There were 3 guys who are the base of new school skiing, their names are JP Auclair, JF Cusson, and Vincent Dorrion. They were some of the first to take our sport back. To give it the freedom that had been missing. For several years they were treading untouched water with the help of their coach/friend Mike Douglas. When they started they had nothing, they were using the boarders parks, naming and trying tricks (most for the first time), with this they needed some new sticks. The skis of the time were good for moguls or racing but skiing wanted to go backwards, be able to hit jumps fakie. With that the Salomon 1080 twin tip was conceived. Around the same time Jonny Moseley won the Gold in the Nagano Olympics with a 360 mute.
With that one win, Jonny Moseley gave new spirit to the sport, while the trick wasn't his and it didn't even have the most style. It was enough to get people hooked. Skiing was starting to get national press coverage on night shows and news broadcasts with Moseley as the front man. He has done more than his share to help this sport. The sport's rate of progression is amazing, in the first few short years skiers were throwing down huge crossed up 1440's all the way through 1080 mute grabs and off axis 900 tail grabs.
It's amazing to be involved in something so new and unknown of as new school skiing. If you've never tried it just give it a shot. If you have, stay core, and live it up while you can. Get out there and ride with your friends and just tear it up.
