Skied with chris rubens, greg hill, alexi godbout and a bunch of other salomon team skiers today and one guy who is in charge of ski design had these prototypes, which I thought looked way to sweet to not show NS. What do you guys think of these?

Looks identical to every other ski they are making right now. Boring.

Agreed, although my initial thought was holy those are mounted pretty far back. thought the qst 106 was a ski better ridden closer to center

Could be true. If that's the case I want Salomon less if the head ski designer is skiing the ski mounted -12 from center.

They did redesign the QST 98 for this year so i wouldn't be surprised if it's a new QST 106 with that carbon flax dampening shit they have now

its a directional ski its definitely not better ridden closer to center. the recommended mount is -9 from center

When is Salomon gonna slap a twin tip on a qst, the blanks with a twin tip would be like the rocker 2 but even better

I just asked their head of us distribution and apparently they have no plans on doing a twin tip. A twin tip Blank would be sick though

That's how little money there is in twins. The company that started it all has left it in the dust. Wild series of events.

Atleast that's my uneducated guess does anyone know exactly why they don't produce a twin?

If I were to guess - park rats destroy skis on rails and go through skis quicker so are less likely to spend money on skis

if you destroy your whips wouldn’t you be more likely to buy new ones? not my actual thought process bc park skiers are poor af but i’m confused by your logic

I meant less money per pair

A - no one cares

B - this is just a Proto, Production have an off white top sheet. Salomon's logo/ branding switches to a more retro design for next season.
