yes, they will be stronger, and lighter from what ive heard, i think they made them with a different composite, strengthening the tow and heel peice while also providing a lighter weight

i heard they didnt suck as long as you got them mounted and set up initially by a shop that knew what they were doing. Even though they were real heavy, if the were set up correctly they worked real well

haha, the reactor myth continues. Almost everything you have heard about the reactors is told by some 12 year old who set them wrong. It's the binding of choice of the jibij team, because they have them set right.

i saw on the japanize site that has all of the new stuff that they have 4 reactors now, the team and regular in a 10 din or 12

You know you have the coolest cab driver when he says, 'And we're off like a prom dress.'

ya the 4 new ones are the regular in 10 and 12 dins then theres the pros in like green camo in 10 and 12 dins

No camo "team issue" in my region due to lack of retailers pre-ordering. I'm not sure if this will apply in the states but I was told no camo.

yea only one store out of ne where ordered them...resulting in no one carrying them or having them

Bad mounting wasn't the only cause of problems with the reactors.

I had my first pair mounted onto my pollards by a shop that knew

what they were doing and the toe piece cracked within the first

hour that I used them. Had them replaced under warrenty no probs

and was told that there was a bad batch made, most of which had

been dealt with before reaching the shops but some still got out.

I've ridden the hell out of my second pair (setup by the same tech

that did the first pair) and had no problems. Id recommend the reactors

to anyone.

hey lineskier-101 it's the binding of choice for the jibij team because most of the riders are sponsored by Line and if they didn't ride the bindings they wouldn't be on the team...

josh, since you're in the know:

1) how many pairs of reactors have you or your team broken?

2) what will be the changes to the '06 models?

3) when will these become available?

4) what price will jibij be retailing these for?

thanks very much. any other help you can offer would be great.

my level of radness... it just can't... be quantified.

^ nice work. i am interested in them too. i don't know why i should buy them, rather than something i know and love like LOOKS. sell me out.

Ok, here goes:

1) how many pairs of reactors have you or your team broken?

Personally, it's the only binding I rode all season, and I have never broken one. I've seen a few pairs broken by team riders, but all were pretty extreme circumstances. They still trust and use the binding.

2) what will be the changes to the '06 models?

The toe and heel piece are on a track. The majority of the breaks occured when the bindings were not set properly (or adjusted by someone other than a tech) and the teeth inside the track were not correctly set. The force of your boot in the binding could rip these teeth out, and the toe and/or heel would slide on the track. The new teeth are thicker and longer.

The toe and heel pieces are also woven together at a microscopic level. Sometimes they would crack. Dupont looked at the design, and determined that if the microscopic fibers were shorter and woven tighter, they would be much stronger. Think of it like a rope.

Now, that being said, almost everyone that came in with a broken reactor had admitted to trying to adjust it themselves. Just because it looks simple to do, there's a lot going on that you need to know about before you try and set the binding. We demoed them at our camp, and I personally set them all, and not 1 binding was damaged the entire time.

3) when will these become available?

I expect to recieve my first shipment in early August.

4) what price will jibij be retailing these for?

From what I've also been told, there is no camo binding being made anymore. For the R10, Jibij will sell it at $249. For the R12, $299.

Disclaimer: All of the info on the new bindings I was told and shown by Jason Levinthal this February when he stayed with me at Copper Mountain. From my understanding, none of it has changed. If it has, I apologize.
