I think it is a "land rover" not range rover, same company really... looks sick but I still think it is a joke car

the only decent "rovers" that are made are either the original range rover (vogue or otherwise), or the land rover Defender... All other models are jokes.

The Defender... a proper machine which holds its price for decades, its price depreciates at a really slow speed so is a solid investment (however the defender does break down an awful lot and is still really unreliable, also it isn't a "luxury car", more of a work/adventure vehicle)

Dunno how much land rover will sell it for, but if i had a spare £30000 i'd get a Defender for sure! With a pop up tent on the roof to go trekking with a snorkel and engine bungs etc. to go wading through deep rivers, mud, snow and stuff! Yeah!

It’s true, and I'm ashamed to say I'm actually British. My dad bought a brand new 2010 Range Rover Sport last year and it was nothing but problems. To start with the parking brake wouldn't engage and the fuel gauge would drop from full to empty at random times so you would essentially have to estimate how much fuel was in the tank. You would think these problems would have been fairly easy to fix, but after 5 months of the car being in the Range Rover garage and still no end in sight, my dad demanded a full refund (which he got). Range Rover were pretty good with how they dealt with the problem, they gave him a brand new Land Rover Defender as a loaner for the 5 months that it was in the shop, and after my dad kicked up a stink they gave him all his money back. But you shouldn't really be getting these problems with a brand new car, so I would tend to agree with Cirillo. Although I definitely wouldn’t spend this kind of money on any of the pieces of shit cars they make in the US, German cars are the only way forward. so if you have a spare 70 or so grand do yourselves a favor and buy the new 2011 Cayenne.

range rovers are shit. sorry but the really are, they have loads of problems and they have horrible crash test ratings. yeah they may look nice but everyone i know whose parents have one cannot wait to get rid of it.

i'd much rather have a G55AMG. they are extremely durable and so much fun to drive! when i was waiting with my grandma at the MB dealership, i got to test drive one, they legitimately take you off-roading because that's what this car is built for.

Don't be ashamed my friend, be proud! lol jk...

I would never buy a US car for sure, British cars are shit, but they do have class; even if they are total bollocks.

German cars are by far the best; I have a 2010 E class. 40mpg at 110mph on the autobahn no problem! Sat nav is a bit gash though... the germans need to sort their electronics out...

My dad got the 2002 Freelander when it came out. Worked great for about two years and then random small shit started to break. When my brother started driving it, the transmission had to be fixed. Then the power windows on the right side, then the headlights, etc. etc.. When my sister started driving it, the engine had to be completely replaced, went through at least four sets of brakes (i'm pretty sure this is my sister's fault actually, terrible driver). I've been driving it for about a year and the transmission is so fucked up it's basically undriveable. It's stuck in hill descent mode, so i shit you not, it goes 0-60 in about 45 seconds. It has to rev up to so many rpm's to get it to jump from first to second gear. I looked online and nearly all of the negative reviews for the car involved almost identical problems at almost identical mileage.

It's a shame, she's a great looking car and it's a nice ride when it's not broken.

I do not remember why i wrote all of this.

European SUV's not made in Sweden are pieces of trash...

If you want something to go offroad... get something from North America, or Japan.

You know why? What the fuck cars are the taliban and al queda romping around on crazy huge sand dunes in... what the hell are the australians driving through extremely dangerous animal infested EVERYTHING... What trucks and suv's do you see african and south american rebel factions with RPG's on their shoulders romping around the rainforest in...

And most importantly... what SUV's do you see most of the time when you're finding a parking spot at your local resort.

My friends... typically, what you see... a good 80% of the time (and I've realized this on both coasts, as well as up in Canada... for every single ski area I've been to) is either a beat up American brand truck, a Jeep, a Toyota, or a Subaru...

Reason? 1: they don't break down. 2: when they do, you can virtually fix them with a hammer, and verbal assault. 3: they are cheap, but still look like solid quality, despite their ruggedness, and 4: Legacies of proving to their owners that the decision to buy such a vehicle was a good one.

(and as for the dudes who romp around in old toyota pickup trucks in the rainforest? why do they use them? because they are the only cars still alive to begin with...)

The dude who rolls up in the porsche cayanne or bmw x5 or mercedes m class is usually the dude who ends up in the bar halfway though the day, bent out of shape and frustrated...

The G55 AMG is a very different car from the G500, which is what I think you meant.
The G500 is built for offroading, the G55 AMG is meant for mall-crawling in luxury.

Well regardless, I test drove a G55. They're pretty much the same except the G55 pwns the G500 in HP and the G55 has a sport suspension. The fact that it can tow almost 4000lbs. is pretty damn impressive as well considering some trucks (I know, depending on the features) max out at like 6000.

Sport suspension. The biggest reason most european SUV's are utterly useless.

They are supposed to be able to go OFF ROAD... stop turning them into fucking lifted cars for moms who dont want to drive minivans.

Who cares if it can tow 4000 lbs... any self respecting person who's actually going to have something to tow, isn't going to buy something with sport suspension and rims that make it so the only tyres you can put on the thing are low profile and useless.

Leave that shit to cars... if its going off road... make it right.

If you're going off road, get an FJ Cruiser, most things made by jeep, or a truck with some legitimate clearance.

i don't think applejuice knows the first thing about off roading, i think all she wanted to do was claim she drove an expensive suv.

That thing is fucking hideous. Land rover is now owned by tata motors and they will still be pieces of shit.

the american version of Top gear did a challenge with the new c63 AMG vs the new Cadillac CVS-v and the caddy beat it in every single category, like braking, acceleration from a stop and acceleration from a roll, also handling... just saying i wouldn't talk to much shit about american cars they are making huge strides, they just have a bad rap

AMG- G Wagon top gear review, pretty cool

It looks like he is ragging that thing pretty hard off-road.
