Check it. You can still opt out in your account settings if you really want, but we're not going back so only use that for reference.

WAY better on mobile, and the desktop version is decently slick. Video listings are super cool.

Anyway, still can make tweaks on this thing but its the latest on NS to be brought modern.
 
IMO it looks kind of weird and empty online, but it really makes a difference on mobile! it's smoother and easier to view, also it's cool having the different tabs. But how can you see which of your friends are online? Also, maybe it's just me but i liked seeing everybody's home mountains and current locations and whatnot, is that going to be a later addition?

Only suggestion is the main "profile" part on desktop. All the other tabs like videos and what not look great but the profile page is really empty. It would be cool if you could feature content on your profile page similar to the layout of the vimeo profile page to fill the blank spaces.

Karma graph would be nice too see again too :)

We were never really pleased with the karma graph. We took it out for now and likely if we add something back we'll do a better job.

As for all the other stuff you suggested - it's all possible but we want to finally update all the parts of Newschoolers to really work in a modern fashion and especially on mobile. Once we figure that out well look at adding features.

Probably just a bug. I'll put it on the list to address for tomorrow!
 
Maybe I'm missing something but is member's name change history not viewable anymore? I found that useful when trying to distinguish between members.

Actually we're going to address this from a different angle. The new video galleries offer the ability to see all videos from a member, so we'll point it there. Just need to get those finished up and ready for the public beta.

So sit tight, week or two and we should be good.

I would be nice to have a way to delete the stupid comments on your profile, like some guy wrote penis on mine, so like maybe have a way to request to delete it and then a mod look over and approve or deny, because u don't want someone like deleting all of the comments that say about bad experiences with them but the stupid ones are annoying

Yeah like a "Flag for Moderation" type thing?

That is a larger task, which we may put on deck for later in the summer.

Right now the best way to handle it is to send a PM to a mod and they will remove it if its truly just stupid.

I removed that BTW.

Liking the new layout. Really like the friends tab. You can see other users icons which you mostly remember when on the forums. Also like the new video layout how it shows the 4 most recent videos than under that shows the highest rated videos.

Only thing that bothers me is how my icon/gif looks just retarded because for some reason it wont fill the whole icon space. Oh well

anyways, great job on the new layout especially on mobile!

Very possible, but we'd have to restrict the dimensions of the profile image and give people the opportunity to crop. Right now we're letting you put whatever image in there and we size it to fit the best we can.

Thanks though! This update has been a long time coming.

Ditto. That bums me out to not see a list of all videos that a member has posted.

Can't figure out how to get to my media. I have a bunch of things popping up on "my channels" that I don't want there. If there was a way to customize which channels get put on the video tab that would be amazing.

I still have "Home Mtn" option.

But I can see the want for location if you live somewhere the rest of the year or whatever other reason.

That said doesn't bother me.

We're working on retiring MyMedia. New channel management will come with the video gallery updates. Which videos specifically do you not want there?

We actually have it, but decided we shouldn't force publish it to everyone. We'll need to add a toggle of if you want to display your location.

Being able to see name changes or at least last name change would be nice.

I know everything is getting streamlined but still. At least seeing the last change so you know who some douchers are without having to look through their threads to identify them.

Yeah, but I could never change mine. It was set to Reno, (or so I thought) but it def said Montana.

You can set it to anything.

Really the location part of a profile hasn't been touched in almost a decade. So we wanted to remove anything as we fixed it up.

If you could get rid of all of them on my profile that would be cool with me. I made a bunch way back in the day that served no purpose. Tanks bud

You have the ability to delete you own videos, in my media you can select multiple videos and delete them all at the same time.

You can still access my media, click "upload" and to the right, second link down is my media.
 
Just figured out how to get old videos put on channels! Really digging the new updates now that that's taken care of!
 
I had to go back to the old profile view to be able to find and share my videos, but that's supposed to change. I will wait to see how that goes.
 
The profiles seemed to change from a Windows experience, where it's a bit clunky but you get way more out of it, to an Apple experience, where it's more streamline but there's no substance.
 
So its been like 2 months that we havent been able to see more than 4 videos on any profile. I saw this thread when the update was made and i assumed it would be patched quick but i'm really questioning the use of rolling out unfinished updates that disable access to most of the site. I see theres a way for users to set it so you can, but the scroll is really annoying and only shows 3 each time. Also nobody seem to have set this option. I use profiles to find videos because the NS search is challenging, (and i have no idea what the video titles are)

With the option in place, once i find someones profile i have to click all the way to the end to find "view all" for the old page. Since NS is a ski video sharing website, i feel like all the videos should be right on the profile to view, instead of being in a tab of the profile, and mostly hidden. /buzzed rant

I second that motion about the only 4 videos deal. It was supposed to be fixed from what I heard. I switched back to the old view so I could find my videos. Can't share an NS link to your stuff if you can't find it! When you go for "More from" you get the same stuff, so no go there either.

I was managing my media to fit it into the new channel format. Moving trudays stuff around so it looked clean. Then i moved the video i uploaded yesterday and it caused it to completely drop off the front page "whats hot" section. I was in the first spot. Not a big deal for that video because i put little effort into it, but def a glitch that should be looked into.
 
I still don't get it. I see some folks have "channels" and that allows more videos than four with some sideways scrolling. I tried to create a channel for my Real Laps 2016, but just can't figure out what the....how to work it. If there is a place here that gives the instructions I would like that link.

We are currently developing a new video section, which is what you are seeing now, its part of the new profiles so we can't really change it, but sit tight, it'll all be fixed soon.
