New Profile & Messaging code

Hey guys,

I've added a completly new code base for sending and reading messages and viewing profiles. I'm currently updating the entire site to use this new profile and messaging code.

Things are expected to go pretty smoothly and I should have all the updates done within a few hours.

If anybody is having problems loading profiles or sending messages by this evening please post a detailed description of your problem here.

it's not working to great for me. When i read a message it doesn't mark it as read.

are you sure? You have to actually click on the sender's name above the online list for the message to be marked as read. It's working for me.

werd app shorti i posted some embarrasing shit in my days of noobism so NoPoles i think we should be allowed to remove threads from that list just a thought.

Hey guys,

I just added a bunch more changes. You konw how before when you would load a profile or a message, and click on a link it would load the entire NS page in the little window that doesn't have the browser buttons, status bar, resize, etc... Well this should now be fixed!!

When you load a user's profile or message from the online, friend or messages list you will get a new window as always. However, if you click to view their literature, threads or message history the new window will close and the main browser window will be redirected!!! I'm fucking stoked, this has bugged me for a long time.

I fucking knew I'd eventually have to learn javascript.

I've tested this in Konqueror 3, Firefox 1.0 and 0.7 and Internet Explorer 6. Can anybody confirm this works in Opera or Safari??

for some reason, my first 200 threads are showing up instead of my last 200, unless im missing the point. :(

Hey, it's not your last 200. It's because cult, moderator and donator forum threads are not shown. This will eventually be changed but for now we can't do it.

^if cult threads are shown only cult members will be allowed to acces them right? also when there are cult threads you should be able to see what cult it was posted in.

No, no cult threads are shown at all. As I said this will eventually be added but for technical reasons shouldn't be done just yet.

Alright, the thread display has been fixed further. Instead of showing up to 50, only threads with activity within the last 30 days are displayed.

This is so really old crappy threads don't make a comeback...

thats sweet...and i just thought of another great idea...a search option in the profiles...so you can see whos from around you or who has the same sponsers/skis as you and other shit like that...dont know how easy that is to do though

Whats the red mean? Also another suggestion for a feature is a quote button, so you can respond specifically to other posts easier. Its not a big deal, but its kind of a nice feature that i've seen on other forums.
