New pow skis any suggestions?

im getting som new big mountain/pow skis. i currently are ridin on som PEs and im into the whole big mountain extreme compitions. such as the SUBARU US EXTREME CHAMPIONSHIPS i competed in at crested butte colorado.i love my PEs adn im lookin into buying som new skis what would your choice be in skis?

From the sounds of what you want to do you should go with the Nordica Enforcer, or if you're looking for something bigger go with the Blowers. Both skis can charge like nothing else I've ever ridden. If you're looking to make nice pow turns and land switch in waist deep pow all day everday get something like the lizzies or hellbents, but if you wanna compete it big mountain comps like you said get something burly like the enforcer

actually Burly was the wrong word. The blowers are burly, enforcers are less burly but that is substituted for manuverability . Both skis charge, enforcer performs better out of the powder however

people in this thread have come up with the most retarded suggestions ive ever seen..im sorry you guys have no clue..

bacons in a comp hahaha good luck.

you want moment m1s, legend pros, b squads, older big daddies, or something similar. somthing super stiff and burly for chargin hard down less than desireable conditions.

186 Legend Pro would be pretty much a perfect comp ski IMO

182 Moment M1

189 B Squad(84s get a lot softer)

those would all fit the bill pretty well.

you dont want a noodle for a comp ski-ex. hellbents, seths, bacons, lizzies, guns, ep pros, etc.

I ride 186 big troubles in big mountain comps and they work super well.

They are about the same flex as the legend pro from the tip to underfoot but the tail is a little softer

and they are a great comp ski

if your as good as you say you are and want a good big mtn comp ski get a Stockli StormRider DP Pro in a 201...

Skis you can ride every day but still compete on:

186 Legend Pro

184 Squad

188 Super Stiff Bro

187 XXL

183 iM103/Supermojo/Mojo 103

ANT (on the soft side)

Man skis:

194 LP

189 Squad

192 Bro

194 XXL

193 "......."

Those are the skis you'll see a lot of guys on at the comps, but they're not the only thing you can compete on. You can use a softer ski like the Seth or Gotama, but it'll be a lot harder to be really competitive on those. Also, check out Igneous or Capital if you want to invest in something really nice that's exactly what you want.

FYI Big Troubles are absolutely nothing like LP's. Metal>all wood.

line for sure, almost every ski company has pow skis
ask peeps on backcountry.com
there is like im chatting box they will tell you some good pow skis

I would not classify the Goats as being a soft ski i have the 05/06 goats in the 183 and those thing fucking charge.

You float with the Goat

(but i havn't skiied the b-squads)

They aren't a soft ski, but for BM comps and when being compared to LPs, Squads, and the like, they aren't all that stiff either.

If you want a really nice ski for this that you're willing to drop some coin on, look into Iggy, Kingswood, Birdos, or some other company where you can pick a custom flex...comp skis are where you want a 2x4 with edges.

line prophet 100- super burly charger ski but with a lot of life in it and it charges groomers, pow, and everything in between

dynastar legend pro rider- similar to prophet, a little burlier

Yep, The Prophet 100 is a great ski, they are fairly stiff due to the metal matrix that helps cut down speed chatter. They handle all conditions great and are really worth looking into.

The rossignal steeze is another ski that comes to mind. I demoed a pair last year and they felt bomb proof.

I'd take a look at what other pro's are riding for big mountain events too.

Absolutely true my friend...however, since the test runs are already put together (as far as I know), I'm not sure how hard it would be for him get get his hands on a pair. Or how long the wait would be...but if he's interested in some amazing spec sticks on the cheap, he should definitely PM Scott and get more info.

I believe Scott will still be taking more orders later this spring into summer..

I know I will be getting that same exact ski..With a bit of rocker in the tip possibly.
