Hey guys i'm getting a new Phone with T-mobile since i am eligible for an upgrade what do you guys think? whats a good phone out there

open to suggestions
 
everyone fucking beats off to the god damn iphone. is it kind of cool? yeah. Is it anything unique? not even close. Palm will be launching an "iphone killer" within the next month called the palm pre. it will initially be launched on the cdma platform but rumor has it that a gsm version will be following closely behind. look that phone up on the web. its fucking dope. or you could buy an iphone like everyone else and think that it does all of this cool stuff...its all mostly the same things that other smartphones have been doing for the past seven years.

haha i watched a video on that phone. Nothing can come close to beating the iphone. Have you ever used the iphones interface?? Soooo smooth. Then theres the app store 25,000 apps is there a Palm app store NO, and the qwerty keyboard who cares i have one on my iphone that i could prob type faster on then those tiny little buttons. plus with the new iphone 3.0 software it doesnt stand a chance.
So the palm can stay with the rest of the smartphones that tried to compete like the Storm, Curve, all the blackberrys since the iphone.
Basically the iphone slays any other phone.
 
iphone integrates the app store and itunes so well. there isnt another phone out there that can downloads so many apps so well without to be connected to a computer. and the 3.0 update will have alot of things that many people thought the iphone lacked (video camera, copy paste, MMS, ect.) there are alot of good phones out there but i think its pretty hard to beat the iphone
 
yes i've used the iphone dude. i worked in telecom for 6 or 7 years before i was done with college. i'm quite familiar with the industry. the iphones interface is an updated version of the palm os that has been out for years. its nothing new. the app store? there have been people writing 3rd party applications for palm devices for more than 5 years bud. don't believe me? go to mytreo.net and check out all of the shareware that is available there. and no you can't type faster on your screen than I can on an actual keyboard. i'm quite proficient with a computer/phone/keyboard and there just flat out isn't a replacement for actual buttons. i can appreciate that you like your iphone. it is a good device. its just that everyone thinks its groundbreaking technology and its not. you don't have stereo bluetooth (until 3.0), mms (3.0), etc. This 3.0 that is coming out isn't sending your phone years ahead of every one else...its bringing the iphone up to par with some very basic features that should be standard in that type of device to begin with.
 
it doesnt have to be groundbreaking as long as its something people havent seen much before and it is user friendly. and since you have access to itunes thats a huge gain. plus the big screen to watch shit on or whatever. i have an itouch and thats awesome by itself if you jailbreak it. if i had the iphone that would be tits. but i dont. cuz i dont have that kind of money right now. but its a tight phone. just thought id throw that out there. but you seem to kno your shit so im not arguing. just sayin i think its pretty tight.
 
for sure - they are a good phone. i would never said they aren't. there are alot of things about it that i don't like especially after having carried so many other smart phones but to each his own. but everybody just touts this thing as the ONLY smart phone thats out there and there are other devices that do all of the stuff the iphone does...but not every 13 yr old out there has heard of them...

 
I just watched that video and that phone looks like another fluke. I don't even have an Iphone but Ive used them and they are extremely user friendly. You just can't beat it, sorry dude.
 
ya. the iphone just blew up and got really popular fast so now its hard for a better phone to be as popular. plus apple can afford the ridiuclous addvertising for it. i see what your saying about them being a good phone but not the best. i agree with that. my mom has one so i like it but if i find a better phone and get it that would be cool.
 
I laugh at the "iphone killers" since there already have been multiple iphone killers and they all failed. Sure if you get an iphone you will be one of a million, but they are a real killer phone~
 
The iPhone is overrated and out dated. As for the apps, someone said something about there app store, look at the new BalckBarry app store that you download right to your phone, you can also download an app right from your phone. Any BlackBerry is better than the iPhone. I mean come on, as of right now you cant even MMS, ( i know, its coming with the update). The only thing good about the iPhone is the marketing. Reception sucks on it, the battery is poor. if you need to replace the battery you have to send the phone to Apple or something.

 
being pro mac and an iphone owner, i'm frankly overly disappointed with how that product works. internet crashes, phone lags, and the plans are expensive...but you know if it makes you happy.
i'd get a snazzy nokia. at least they work forever.
 
wow, crazy to see that someone else has fallen victim to Apple's multi-million dollar marketing campaign. I think you forgot to mention that the volume sucks on it too.
 
you are certainly entitled to your opinion. no need to apologize. im guessing most haven't read any reviews and are forming opions after watching the 10 minute youtube video. the UI sounds like it is extremely easy to use. palm has always been user friendly. The treo 600 os was the basically the same thing that the iphone has now. the new pre also can run multiple applications at once unlike the iphone.

yee that phone looks sick. my buddy has one and he says he likes it. i haven't had the chance to dick around with it tho, so I dont know if its any good.

personally, i'd go with a blackberry. but the iphone is good because you can jailbreak it and put soo much useful stuff on it
