New park skier.

I am new to park skiing. i am used to carving a lot. i want to get into park. I can 360 540 270 off and all that and i learned that all in a pair on -6 scott punishers. i am looking for help. i like the design and playfulness off vishnu wets. i love how u could butter them for days. but i also feel like i would benefit more from a k2 poacher or arv 96. i am young so i need a durable ski that’ll last 2 seasons plus. 6 ft 150lbs. Help me out. i am going to be 75 percent park and 10 percent real carving and 15 percent fucking around.

Get something by Line. They are cheap, durable and can take a beating when learning.

i have heard otherwise on the durability. What’s your experience. i have heard they arent the best quality

i say arv or poacher, especially since you're a plenty big dude, you might too easily overpower Wets or other super soft skis

poachers are stiffer than ARVs for better or worse. both are EXCELLENT park/do it all skis and should definitely last you at least 2 seasons

ARV is the ticket then dude. great all around ski that is mid range in stiffness, can def do it all but leans toward the butter-able side of things. sounds perfect for you

thanks bro. I have heard the arv is very stiff. i am thinking about getting the pivot and 2020 arv package on evo.

no, they're def not "very stiff." stiffer than they used to be but they're definitely a flexible and very easy-to-manage ski

that's a GREAT setup and that price isn't bad. i would maybe hold out though and see if prices go down separately on the Pivots and/or the ARVs since it's the end of the season and it got cut short

however if that's not a huge concern for you or you're in a hurry, that's a really really good setup for what you're asking for

thanks man. nah i got skis to use on my backyard setup i can wait a little while. But just to make sure i can def butter on them it may just take a little more power?

yeah, they're a medium flex which will honestly be so much better for most things, but they break in, and you can definitely butter them, will just take a little more power than skis like Wets that are purposely made super soft for butters etc

if buttering is a serious primary concern for you, maybe something different that is particularly soft but for literally everything else the ARV is going to be a better all around ski

which Punishers were you on, 95 or 110? how'd you like their flex in general, and for butters?

95. Nah i had them back a shit ton from center and couldn’t even flex them at all. Those were definitely not ideal for park at all.

Was going to say TW Pro but you said you wanted to butter so they probably wouldn't be the most ideal ski

i am open for any skis honestly i just want it to have some flex to play around on.

i think the edollos could be my ski. perfect waist. Right amount of flex and stability.

gotcha now. okay yeah, well the e dollos are the exact same shape as the ARV, just different flex pattern that's a little more geared toward butters so that's a great choice. i got the vibe that your chief concern was all mtn ability so i went toward ARV rather than dollos. but theyre super similar skis and if you are big on butter-ability then yeah that's a perfect choice!
