New park setup - piste pipes + bishops?

Hey all,

I've been skiing on my 180 tm22's for about a year now and am just now getting into jumps and rails. I'm thinking of picking up another more park-specific pair of skis and was looking closely at the newer piste pipes. And I was going to throw a set of bomber bishops on there (or is this overkill?). My main question is on the length of the pipes. I was thinking of going a little shorter than my atomic 180's, like 169. I'm 5'-10.5" and weigh about 175. Do you think I'd be happy with the 169's or should I go with the 179's? I guess I was thinking the shorter skis would be easier to manage in tricks, is this true?

Thanks for any help.

Josh

yea you should definitely go with the 179s because i am about 5' 5'' and i just rode the 169 piste pipes a couple days ago and they even felt small for me. i know everybody would say that that is the perfect length for me but they just felt small. i only demoed them and i think they were center mounted so that could have been the reason. they were great skis though, i really enjoyed them.

179.Im ur like 3 inches taller then me and im on 170s.So i 179s will be nice for u and u will get use to them after ur first few days.

179, take it from someone who teles. i tele pistols in a 179. im the exact same height. if i had the money, id buy bishops. but i dont. but yea, not overkill. solid binding. 3 year warrenty. great for park riding. twintipteles has em and said they work wonders for switch landings and switch ups.

whatever you feel comfotable

with if you want something smaller

go with the 169

i did that i switched to smaller skis

and i loved it
