Some guy in the comments offered up "New Orleans Voodoo" Which literally would have been the fucking coolest most sinister and frightening name of any sports team ever, until I realized it's already taken by their lame ass Arena Football Team.

Anyone think of a cooler name than pelicans? I was thinking like the sand crabs, or crayfish. Or Oysters or something

 
I'm with Petros on this one. Gonna get decked out in everything Pelicans. I can't wait for there to be a professional team called the Pelicans

true story, I actually just found it was the new orleans hornets rather than the charlotte hornets just last summer.

In other words, I'm the only person who found out about the brooklyn nets and new orleans hornets on the same day.

....yea i don't follow basketball much
 
well no, I was vaguely aware that the team from boston that wears green and plays at the garden, but not hockey, won some sort of little tournament a few years back.
