Hey guys! I just worked on this video with a few of my classmates for some extra credit. We really didn't take too long to film and weren't really concerned with some of the authenticity (clothes and such) of the video. Still though, I would love to know what you guys think of the rest of the video and am welcome to any critique!

Camera work was nice! Nice mix up of shots, decent balance, great colors (especially for a cloudy day), glidecam work was solid for sure.

Not sure if I understood the video. I don't exactly understand how it pertains to either the Fitzgerald classic (haven't read it in a long time) or the Holocaust. Maybe I'm missing something? Backstory? What exactly was the extra credit assignment?

At first I didn't like the music, but then again, at first I thought it was going to be a sad memorial video (I was mislead by "Holocaust"). It actually fit quite nicely throughout the whole film.

Thanks man! The titles is in reference to the final words in the second to last chapter. It goes something like, "It was after we started with Gatsby toward the house that the gardener saw Wilson's body a little way off in the grass, and the holocaust was complete"

Backstory: Basically, the guy by grave is Wilson, who thinks that Gatsby (the man at the pool) murdered his wife.

It actually wasn't an "assignment". I told a friend about the vision I had for this scene, and he loved it. So we asked the teacher if we could do it and get extra credit and she said yes, hah.
 
Ah right, I remember that scene. I did not recall the use of the word Holocaust. That makes much more sense now, thank you.
 
Fantastic work as always Matt. I really have nothing negative to say about this. Between the weather and the color grading the mood was set so well. Also, your glidecam work is looking dope! Keep it up man. Also, see you in battle in seattle! :) -Micah Estelle
 
Thanks Micah! Yeah, the weather worked out just perfect. Battle in Seattle is gonna be dope. Less that two weeks!
 
The close-up of the gun towards the end was really good. I really liked how you used the depth of field to make that shot really interesting, but definitely awesome work throughout
