Nokia has some new sick cell phones coming out. One has a 4gb capacity to hold thousands MP3s, and they are already predicting it to outsell Ipods. Check it out:

When you think about it: 4gb Ipod sells for $200, 2mb digital camera sells for about $150, and one of the new high end cell phones sells for $350. When you get all three of these devices in one the price makes perfect sense. Besides the release price of new electronics always drops withtin a year of its first release.

Cingular and Verizon both have 6 cell phone models all $299 and over, that is high end im my opinion.

i bought my phone from cingular for 200... and it has a spot for a removable sandisk card, i have a 256 card right now.. and can hold mp3s and shit too. its also a nokia ... 6230 i beleive

^^^ Yeah I've seen those too, but the fact that new technology is allowing cell phones to carry 4mb worth of pics and music is sick. I dont know a lot about cameras, but supposedly the lenses in the new generation phones are alot better than any that have been released thus far and allow crisper images.

I have a camera phone. It's fucking useless as a camera.

My phone spends all day in MY POCKET. the lens gets covered with shit, coins, keys, etc, and it gets scratched. Add to that having to clean it all the time, and that it takes photos at about 1/1000000th of a megapixel resolution-wise, and you have a recipe for a pretty piss poor camera. Oh, and getting my pictures to my computer is a hassle. It's a good thing I actually like the phone features, otherwise I woulda junked this phone long ago.

As for the rest of this shit, other phone makers are planning phone/mp3 player combos, and most of them will be cheaper. Content and content distribution are two other problems that we don't even need to start getting into, but let's put it this way: If you need to buy each song through your cellphone provider's service, you're looking at paying 2-3 dollars per song. Might as well buy an iPod and BUY your music for $0.99 per track.
